One more test before thanksgiving break. Running on 3 hrs of sleep. It needs to be 5pm already #premed #prehealth #gradschool #medicalschool #pharmacology #microbiology #pathology #psychiatry #futuredoctor (at USC Norris Medical Library)
Dr. Maznah Dahlui (M.D., M.P.H, and Ph.D!) flew in from Malaysia to talk to us about healthcare delivery in her country, and the social and cultural influences on healthcare. I love learning about these things, because being a physician is so much more than prescribing meds. How can we influence healthcare delivery to better serve EVERYONE, and especially those in need?
I love watching Hopkins. One of my favorite documentary series, along with Boston Med and NY Med. I love that the physicians that tell their stories on these shows are so diverse. One of the surgeons in the Hopkins docu-series is Dr. Quinones-Hinojosa, who came to the U.S. as an undocumented immigrant. 20 years later, he's gone to UC Berkeley, Harvard, UCSF, and is now a renowned neurosurgeon. #successstory #ilooklikeasurgeon #hopkins #bostonmed #nymed #premed
Packing for my medical mission trip. In 4 days I'll be on a plane to Ghana!
All the studying, classes, stressing, and late nights are over. Officially conquered this 7 hour test!
I am officially done with my mcat studies, 2 months, 10 Princeton books, and tons of practice passages later. I've studied and practiced as much as I can. All I can do now is relax, sleep, and do my best. I feel pretty good, and a lot more prepared than my first time.
MCAT Tomorrow
I'm retaking the mcat tomorrow morning, and I am so freaking nervous...
Props to Nurses!
I'd just like to say props to all the nurses out there. For up to 12 hours at a time you put up with the MOST, from patients, families, and coworkers. Having interned on two different nursing floors for the past three months has made me truly understand that there is a special kind of person who becomes a nurse: someone with true compassion, patience, and the ability to continue working professionally, even while sometimes taking a beating from demanding patients/families, or arrogant doctors. I could never be a nurse because I would not be able to handle it!
1. Make friends with the studious people. You know what I mean, right? The front row people who take good notes. The people who do their homework early and ask questions. Become friends with those people.
2. Make STUDY plans with your STUDY buddies. If you need to learn hard material, it’s best...
genetics test tomorrow!
i really can’t recommend microsoft onenote enough– if you’ve got messy, unmanageable handwriting like i do, it’s one of the best notebooklike digital options out there.

Final exam in 2 days! Doing some night studying up on my loft bed. Cross referencing my notes with a different textbook. Hoping all of this will give me a /new perspective/ on fundamental groups …
