As some one who had 11+ shots of blond Esspresso over the course of a 17 hour shift yesterday
"Knock knock, but I'm not good at jokes" "let me stiff this hacky sack and then steal it" (starting to think that was just an exhausted accident tbh) "Wheemp Wheemp" and "clap for my dog x2" and "the consensus here is that it would be preferable" make so much more since.
We need to make chronically exhausted while over caffinated Eva Statt so much more weird. Let that woman run her mouth so much more I promise she should not have any better a filter that Grace.
let the caffien hit and she gets weirdly hyper active, pacing her office, walking the corridors, jamming to music.
Let it crash and she just system reboots zoned out in a corner for 30 seconds.

I just laughed for one year watching this. The casual walk-off is just deadly.

Tonight on My Husband Doesn’t Know How to Baby Talk
“Ma’am, are you aware that these, right here are your hands? They belong to you. And you get to decide what happens with them. So when you use these hands to pull your binky out of your mouth that is not necessarily a dad problem. I’ll fix it obviously i just want you to acknowledge it’s not my fault”
Husband: ma’am it has been reported lately that you do in fact have tiny little toes and a little button nose, do you care to comment?
Penny Rose: Babbles in Baby
Husband: RIVETING!
Penny Rose: Does that High Pitched Baby Yell ™️
Husband: Let it out friend! Feel your feelings!
Me: Hehehe silly husband doesn’t know how to do baby talk
All of tumblr collectively at my husband:
Penny Rose: does a sad baby scream
Husband: you don’t even have to understand taxes yet! I can explain them but you’ve got several years before that’s relevant!
Penny Rose: wide eyes, staring at her father, almost intrigued
Husband: I lied to you Penny your mother does our taxes. Do you want to know about arbitration? I know all about arbitration.
THE MAN THE MYTH THE LEGEND
yes he just walks around the house and talks to her like this
Penny Rose: Cooing as twinkle twinkle little star plays
Husband: Now Penny there is a lot of misinformation out there in the world and I hate to tell you this but the moon is in fact not made of cheese. That is a conspiracy theory pushed by Big Dairy.
????
Husband: Holds Penny Rose up to her reflection in the microwave
Husband: you see Penny Rose! This was the M. Night Shyamalan twist! You were mirror baby all along!
FYI this is how you get a Deals Warlock if you were wondering
I have follow up questions:
1) Did you participate in baby talk to make up for your husband's deficit, or did you also opt to speak to the Deals Warlock like a very tiny adult from babyhood?
1a) If you participated in baby talk with Penny, did she ever do any code switching with you while she was learning to talk (I mean, babyish talk back to you but fully formed adult like you share with us to Lawyer Dad)?
I didn't baby talk with her very much either! I think I squealed at her more than my husband did.
Something funny that has happened is that while she formally calls me Mama when she's answering me in passing she does call me "My Darling Love" and I don't know for sure but I think it's because I call her and her father "my loves" and her father calls me and her "darlings" and she's created a mash up 😂
So I'll say "okay penny it's time for bed" and I'll just hear "okay my darling love!" 😂
Everyone is always so so kind on this post but I do want to warn you all that this did in fact lead to an insanely verbal child, and if you choose that life you have to commit to that life.
Penny Rose is now 5 years old and she
1. Starts talking the moment she opens her eyes to the moment she passes out at night
2. Asks, and I am not exaggerating I counted, an average of 892 questions a day
3. Does not accept "I don't know" as an answer to said questions, will usually have a follow up question as to why you don't know OR a suggestion on how we can find out together

a bit more context
Curious now as to if my applications last year were filtered through this system. Some companies (like Adobe, Oracle, etc) should have jumped at my experience in lifecycle management but I either heard nothing at all or a form rejection weeks after applying.
[Image ID: Text reading: There is a social credit system operating inside the American job market right now and no one told you about it. If you've applied for a job in the last few years and couldn't even get an interview, this might be why. A class action complaint just exposed the company running it.
The company is called Eightfold Al. Over 100 major employers use it, including Microsoft, PayPal, Starbucks, Morgan Stanley, Chevron, and Bayer. When you submit a job application to any of these companies, Eightfold's Al activates in the background without your knowledge.
It scrapes your social media profiles, your Linkedin, your GitHub, your location data, your cookies, your internet and device activity, and cross-references all of it against a proprietary database of 1.5 billion data points on people worldwide. It then scores you from 0 to 5 on your "likelihood of success" and ranks you against every other applicant. If you score low, your application is discarded before a human being ever sees it.
You are never told Eightfold exists. You are never told your data is being scraped. You are never shown your score. You are never given the chance to review or dispute the information used against you. You don't even know there's a report. You just apply, wait, and get an automated rejection two days later, like one of the plaintiffs in this case, a woman with a master's degree and over a decade of experience who applied to Microsoft and never made it past the algorithm.

I really do think that to Eridians, the most alien thing about us is our obsession with space.
Space (and stars) are a much newer concept to Erid, at least relative to us. They cannot perceive stars. They can't even see their own sky.
And then here we are, utterly obsessed. The number of songs, movies, and TV shows that reference stars, the moon, our sun, it's light, astronauts, space — we can hardly go five minutes without bringing up at least one of those things. NONE of them are things Eridians have an established affinity for; to them, they're scientific concepts, and that's pretty much it.
And yet, stars are one of the first things our kids learn how to draw. We have a specific name for the connections we trace between them, and those constellations have been built into thousands of years of our history. We fought a proxy war based on who could get to them the fastest. I absolutely believe that, to Erid, this would be our defining characteristic above and beyond anything else.
It's almost cliché. How thematically on point it must be from their perspective, that an alien from a species so in love with the stars was the one to show up and save theirs.
I love being an adult who always puts my hand out to shake when I meet a kid! every single time their face is like "no one does The Adult Greeting Ritual with me, is this a sign of respect or is this man simply unhinged" and then of course as we talk they realise it's both
