"..Why does 8 scream so much?"
morganaseren:
She wondered if perhaps there was a consequence to having these new AIs follow her about. Then again, it was unlikely she’d run into any danger, not if she wasn’t actively looking for such a thing. Her profession as an assassin had, more or less, come to a halt since Gemini had taken an interest in her and saved her all those months ago from Cerberus.
Granted, her profession was more a means to an end. She had needed funds to build a device that would dampen the adverse side effects of her abilities, but if Gemini could truly aid her in that aspect, she’d no longer need to take up her dark trade again.
She could possibly want for nothing ever again.
And while she had some mild concern over the AIs’ programming, they didn’t seem to any noticeable… quirks as Unit 8 did. However, as odd and work-obsessive as Gemini could be—and as fond as the synthetic monarch was of her—she doubted she’d release new creations unto her unless they in proper working condition.
To them, Morgana gently waved away. “You’re welcome to return to whatever routine you have until I’ve need of you all again.” The corners of her lips twitched. “I’m sure we’ll get properly acquainted once I finish planning our first destination.”
It was only once they left that she gifted Gemini with a smile, one that burnished her entire expression, warming even the usual cool depths of her eyes.
"I accept your conditions," she said at last. A dark head bowed itself gracefully. "And I thank you."
"This... makes me happy. Yes, I believe that is the correct word for it?"
Stepping away from the table, Gemini appears satisfied with this response. Now she could be at ease when her obsession was out of her reach -- but never too far away. 111 would be the perfect guardian.
morganaseren:
Grey eyes blinked slowly as she watched three individuals make their appearance known at Gemini’s beckoning. The numbered designations they gave her only confirmed her suspicions that these were indeed the creations the other woman spoke of. The empath’s keen mind took them in quickly enough, mentally cataloging everything about the new AIs from the their appearance to their respective personalities, which were apparent to her simply from the greetings they gave.
For some, it could have been seen as oddly disconcerting how… synthetic-like her mind could be, but in Gemini’s fortress, it seemed she was among company even as the sole organic there.
Oh, dear. Her gaze returned to the scarlet-haired monarch as she spoke. It seemed Gemini had descended into one of her more exuberant modes. Having grown used to the sight by then, Morgana could only smother a smile of amusement, which she hid behind the rim of her wine glass.
But the words that followed after did give her some pause.
"For me?" she repeated curiously. The empath placed her eating utensils neatly back atop her dish since it seemed the coming conversation would likely require her focus. "Not… that I don’t appreciate the sentiment, but why would you create AIs for me?"
Quickly the woman resorted back to her more calm and stoic demeanor. The once big and warm smile replaced with but a straight line, while she watched all three of her creations look upon Morgana for a sign of command -- anything.
"Your desires to leave the Fortress have not gone unnoticed. Though I have been reluctant to allow this, I have finally come to a compromise for your desires -- as well as our daughters."
Lifting her palm, she presented the AI's once more, "this is 111. They were born for the specific purpose of being your guides and guards; they will man the ships and shuttles you use for transportation away from our cluster and into the Galaxy to explore as you see fit."
Immediately her eyes brightened, "this is the condition I have placed fourth to allow you to leave. They must be with you."
morganaseren:
Morgana offered a somewhat distracted response as she sat at the dinner table, eating. “What creation are you referring to this time?”
"One I know will please you, Morgana. It has taken me weeks, upon weeks to master... but it is finally finished. And now, I would like to show you what has had my attention so intensely."
From the table she did stand, lavished red tresses falling at her back while her arms raised high and her palms clapped firmly together in a summoning gesture. Suddenly a metal door opened to the side of the room ( one of her many entrances to her laboratory ), and out strode a woman clad in blue.
"Speak."
"Greetings, I am called.. 1."
And just before the woman could respond, a second figure stepped from behind the first, and with a perky smile nevertheless.
"Greetings! I'm called 1~"
And again, a third stepped forward from the shadows!
"Greetings.... I am 1."
The triplets stared into Morgana's eyes with their own eerie yellow ones, and how they did glow in the dim lighting of the room. In her excitement, Gemini extended her arms and laughed out in utter joy.
"Are they not magnificent, Morgana?! Beautiful in every way, my experiment to combine the organic minds of three individuals so they can only function when all three live! When all three are near! They are in such sync with one another -- far exceeding that of organic twins!"
Relaxing, she tried to explain further, "I've made these three for you, specficially, my dear."
"My creation... its nearly complete."
morganaseren:
Of course, a “female organic” though she was, Morgana was hardly typical or ordinary by any means. What may have appealed to others held very little interest to her. Her experiences with intimacy were often… harsh and humiliating; she had no desire to submit herself so vulnerably, not to anyone. Had Gemini been anyone else, her advances—bemusingly blatant though they were—would have been met with nothing more than her disdain.
But the AI was well within a league all her own.
She possessed both intelligence and power, and she held herself with a grace that bordered on negligent ease. Were Morgana an envious woman, she would have harbored jealousy in her heart, for what came to Gemini so easily she herself had to cultivate over years. Indeed, the AI could also be rather obsessive with her work, and though the human empath had been under intense scientific scrutiny before at the hands of Cerberus, Gemini seemed to have no interest in hurting her; yet for some reason, the other woman expressed great interest in her that went beyond mere scientific observation.
In any circumstance, if Morgana were anyone else, Gemini would have been more than qualified as lover, and yet Morgana was still uncertain of her intentions… Was it only sex that the AI desired? Was the entire charade little more than an experiment to ascertain knowledge Morgana could only begin to speculate at?
Coming out of her introspection with an owlish blink, she could only offer a small—albeit puzzled—smile.
"…um." Morgana bit her lip, a habit she used when she was annoyed with herself. She prided herself on her intellect, so it bothered her when she inadvertently switched to mere vocalizations, but Gemini had somehow reduced her to that with her odd behavior. "Well… Your outfit is rather…" Dark brows furrowed as she searched for appropriate words. "…Form-fitting. It suits your figure well."
Had she succeeded in sounding unaffected by the display before her? She hoped she had…
"Aah, I understand. I was... attempting to see if my appearance not only affects males, but also females of the species."
Oh, no... that sounded as if she were conducting an experiment. That wasn't at all what she had intended. "Of course, I do seek your approval... if you... happen to find me attractive."
"..Do... you? Approve of what you... see?"
.
"Well what have we here? Hm, you're certainly an interesting one."
"And who are you?"
I've been watching your interaction with Amy Shepard, and I'm a little confused. Is Gemini an AI? And if she is, how was she not stopped in the Citadel?
outofscience; Thanks for asking nonnie! I understand it can be a little confusing, so let me try to clear this up!
Yes, Gemini is an AI. To an extent.
Lets use EDI as an example; unlike EDI, Gemini is not entirely AI. She is not 100% android and computer chips, she was built from the existing body and mind of a person. Ashley Swells.
And unlike other AI, Gemini cannot detect other AI forms and likewise they cannot detect her. She doesn't come off as an artificial program, in fact, more likely will come off as an organic with extensive prosthetic's.
Kind of like how Shepard was brought back to life with advanced tech; but that's a little different, considering Shepard's tech helps her to survive and revived her by regeneration dead / old tissue. Where as Gemini's replaces organic parts and enhances organic parts with synthetic tech and chips.
Gemini can die, but it will take a very, very long time for her to reach her life's span. And even then she can be brought back to life under the care of an expert technician or scientist.
Hope that explains stuff?

”May I help you?”
"No."
.........
"Yes. Perhaps you could inform me on how diverse your races genetic pools are? Compared to humans?"
morganaseren:
Grey eyes curiously followed the pale hand that came into contact with her. Her expression was one of subtle bemusement. It didn’t help that Gemini had chosen a more… provocative outfit, and she had to resist the urge from dropping her gaze below neck level.
"Good… evening?" was her tentative greeting. At the inquiry, she turned her eyes toward the datapad at her desk, displaying notable locations on the Citadel. "I was just simply reading."
"Reading? About the Citadel? The center-fold of all organic life, where they collide as one?"
Gemini was most certain her attempts at seducing the human were succeeding, her initial research had informed her that honesty was the best route with 'female organics', however, Morgana hadn't been very receptive to this form of flirting. In fact, she came to conclusions that Gemini was in fact using her.
Perhaps it were true to some extent; using her for the experience of 'love', a purely organic emotion that was transmitted from one another in moments of intense passion. There was no denying that Gemini did enjoy Morgana; an exceptional test subject with capabilities far out of spectrum of the human race as a whole.
After all, she was the best prospect for a child; 84.
"Do you enjoy my breasts, Morgana?"
morganaseren replied to your post “ ”Mmhmhmhmm….”
Morgana raised her head as she heard laughter outside her door. Her brows furrowed as her mind ran through all the likely suspects, and she blinked upon settling on one. "Gemini?"
"What are you doing?"
Gemini's palm rested against the shoulder of Morgana -- yet today -- her attire was far more seductive.
"Mmhmhmhmm...."
Reblog this if I'm allowed to answer your Open/IC posts.
I’m really scared and nervous, I see an open and I start to panic, I know I really want to answer it and sometimes I get the courage but usually I don’t. So this is more of assurance for me. Letting me know that you’re alright with me answering your open/IC posts.
