The fact that Atsushi returned Dazai’s words back at Dazai, reminding him of how impactful Dazai’s words are to him at that time. Reminding Dazai that Yokohama is also his city and they protected it together with their own ways. The way it was sunset when Dazai told Atsushi this, while Atsushi said this words to Dazai at dawn. How genuine and soft their smiles are directed at each other.

Words failed me. Just. Let me go to hug my laptop and cry from this amazing moment the animators gave us.

Let’s talk about this scene.

I love how casual and familiar they are to each other even though their ranks are different. It’s obvious how Chuuya treats Akutagawa better than Dazai with the way Akutagawa acts with him.

This scene is feeding my soukoku loving ass because Nakahara Chuuya, no one asked. Chuuya telling Akutagawa that Dazai is okay means that despite everything, Akutagawa still cares about his past mentor. I also like to think that saying this is some sort of assurance for Chuuya that yes, he had saved Dazai and the city from destruction.

Akutagawa bowing down to Chuuya shows how much he respects the latter and maybe not just because he is an executive. He respects him because he helped saved the city they all love.

All I can say is that this scene is pretty cute.

But now let’s put all the sexual hints aside and let’s talk about how gentle Dazai is with Chuuya.

He let him rest on his lap when he was too exhausted from Corruption that he couldn’t move a single finger, when he was vulnerable, and he protected him from Shibusawa’s ability by never letting him go. He is touching Chuuya’s hair so softly I bet he petted his hair a lot while our attention was on Atsushi fighting Shibu
