This was the moment, Changmin was finally going to confront this mystery man whoād been eluding him for days now, the mystery person whoās picture had been kept and thoughtfully hidden away in a charmed box in his fatherās study. His fatherās study! Who was this person? Why was there newspaper clippings of this person from childhood till now in a box that clearly was never meant to be seen by anyone but his father, why did they exist? Why were they secret? Who was this person? This.. Han Yoogeom. Why did he have his family name? Not that it wasnāt impossible for someone in the world to share the same family name as him, but to find a photo with a date and an age and that name written on the back in his fatherās. STUDY. It was all too much of aĀ ācoincidenceā for him, so he had to find out who he was. Heād searched all over school for him, asking around for a Han Yoogeom, age 24, but no one had heard of him, which he thought was crazy because here he was on this photo in his Mokseong Uniform at his graduation and the article that had come with it clearly stated he was attending grad school here. It wasnāt until he confronted his friend Sageās aunt Forsythia that he got any sort of useful information.
āXander Maxwell?āĀ
After a lot of back and forth about who he was and who he couldnāt possibly be, and howĀ āyou really shouldnāt talk to someone like him, heās yada yada yadaā, Changmin stopped listening once the conversation had nothing else that he wanted to hear and he was off to find out more about Xander Maxwell. He knew the Maxwell name well enough, he and his mother liked to keep up with all the influential wizarding families around the world, especially the dark ones. They were momās specialty when she worked as an Auror and he always found it fascinating to learn more about them, he always believed there was usually a deeper meaning or reason to why any of them did what they did, which might seem to be a bit naive, but it helped him keep an open mind and not just see them as evil monsters that should just be locked away forever. Of course some of them are bad enough that it should land them in prison, but he didnāt think everyone in a dark wizarding family were the same. Which is why he didnāt heed Forsythiaās warning and he kept digging for more info that could lead him to Xander.
Finally, after days of planning and quality detective work, if he did say so himself, heād figured out the perfect way to get close toĀ āXanderā that would force him to talk to him.
Changmin sat with his hands folded in his lap as he waited for his tutor to meet with him, now that the moment was actually here he found himself a bit nervous, his eyes continued to drop to the photo of a smiling graduate with people, who he could assume were his parents, patting him proudly on the shoulder and he wondered who he was beyond this sepia toned newspaper clipping. When he heard the door open his head shot up and he covered the photo with both hands, looking to the real version of it and offering a nervous smile.
āH-hello! Iām sorry if Iām too early, I always like to be punctual to these sorts of things, especially on my first day.ā He let out, trying to begin with pleasantries before he brought up the true reason for being here.Ā
