Today was epic. The summit of North Sister continues to be elusive...but I do like challenges and will return. After 5000 feet of climbing and less than 500 vertical feet away from the summit the storm clouds moved in and I made my exit. Middle Sister is shrouded in clouds in the background.

Back to Smith Rock today for an excellent post-Thanksgiving calorie burn-off trailrun. I had a friend tell me many years ago that the "sun always shines on Smith" - very rarely has this not been the case when I'm there. This photo is from the Summit trail, facing NE toward Gray Butte. The loop is approximately 8 miles long with ample climbing (1400ft +/-). The trail conditions were absolutely perfect! #rundirt #CentralOregon #itsalwaysbetteroutside
