The story focuses on mainly Isaiah Hardscrabble (my oc), standing up against Dean Hardscrabble. He challenges the argument of what makes a “true monster”. Through protests, and  the songs he plays with his band on campus. Isaiah presents himself as a kind and rebellious monster. He’s quite popular on campus. Soft Jock with a high academic profile. Always striving to stay on top for the monsters he stands a up for. Radiating a strong sense of leadership and confidence. Though that confidence is only a mask to cover how he truly feels about himself. Throughout the fanfic , he struggles with his own self-esteem on top of his crumbling relationship with Johnny Worthington, and the discourse between him and his mother. It’s a constant losing battle, that will start to slowly eat away at any mental stability he has left.

Where would you be?..

“Where do you envision yourself 20 years from now?” Isaiah asks, smiling as he looks up at the dark wood ceiling.

Claire turns her head slightly, with a smirk. “Where did that question come from?” She shook her head, letting out a playful chuckle.

“Oh come on, it’s not an outlandish question. I’m just curious” Isaiah lets out a small laugh . His tail gently thumps the ground. “It might be a cheesy question, but it’s still a fun one to answer, nonetheless”

Claire Shifts her weight slightly, readjusting her head to sit more comfortably on Isaiah’s mane.

“I have no doubts there.. It’s just interesting you bring it up”

“Well. With graduation creeping up, it seems like the right time to reminisce about the future a bit.” Isaiah puts his hands together, twirling his thumbs, looking off to the side. “Give ourselves a bit of hope before we start out our lives” Isaiah looks up at the ceiling. keeping his tail at a slow, rhythmic thump. 

Claire chuckled as she thought. “I think. I won’t just get by. I’d a high paying job where I can actually matter, where monsters would still rely on me for something important. A job where I’m in charge..” She sighs looking to the side. “And Mabye.. Have a wife?”… nothing too crazy.

Isaiah glances at her ”ha! Sounds exactly like something the president of the Greek council would say” He chuckles, giving her a wink.

She rolls her eyes and shakes her head.

“What about you?” She nudges him lightly. “ You think you’re going to settle down with Johnny after all of this?

Isaiah hesitates for a moment, his tail going still. “I’m.. not sure anymore..” He exhales dragging a hand on his face. “Things between us haven’t been the same since…” He takes a quick pause looking around the room before continuing to speak again “Well you’ve seen it” He waves his hand, dismissing whatever he was about to say.

Claire lifts her head up a little, studying him. “ I…figured…”

He forces a small laugh. “ honestly if things go how I want. I’m not gonna be a scarer for long”

“Oh?”

“Yeah!” Isaiah‘s eyes brighten a bit. “I’ll make enough to get by, and then I’ll be off, playing gigs traveling, the band taking off. Not… Stuck going in and out of doors my whole life. Giving human children heart attacks.” He grimaces “It just doesn’t feel… ethical. For me at least..”

Claire smiles faintly and nods“You never really seemed to be thrilled in that lecture hall. If the dean wasn’t your mother. I’d say you’d be skipping a lot.” She chuckles nudging him.

Isaiah let out a small laugh, a real one. “Ha! You got that right….” “She’s.. terrifying…” Isaiah gets a nervous look on his face.

He turns his head to Claire, and they both look at each other awkwardly for a split second, and burst into a fit of laughter. Isaiah’s tail slaps on the ground as he hold his stomach. And Claire has her hand over her face, shaking her head, while smiling. 

After laughing for a good minute,they both let out on big sigh, slowly laying their heads back on the ground. Looking up at the wood ceiling once more.. For the next few hours they both lay in silence…

Abigail’s wife, Poppy wasn’t around much when she was raising Isaiah. She didn’t do everything on her own, but there was still a hole longing to be filled. Poppy could only make time for important events, or just a few hours she had off from work to spend with Abigail. Other the years this absence made Abigail resent her wife. She still loved her deeply. Though she couldn’t help but think about the moments they could’ve had together as a family. Days they could’ve shared getting to watch their son growwill never come back. Isaiah will never get to truly know who his mother is. Only through stories and the words of other people.. and when they did see each other, the gap was as clear as day. How can he bring himself to love the same woman Abigail loves when he’s practically never known her..

The absence from her wife was filled in by Derek Knight. He played the role of a coparent, though to Isaiah he’s the real thing.She was happy Isaiah could have another shoulder to lean on as he grew. When he transitioned, having a father like figure was very helpful to say the least. Though she still couldn’t help but feel angry. She’s grateful for all that Derek has done. But she’s angry knowing the moments he got to experience, could’ve been moments poppy filled in.

This resistance, these feelings followed her all the way into Isaiah’s adulthood in college. She often finds herself frustrated with Isaiah, not just for his rebellious behavior, but there’s something so infuriatingly familiar about him. He never knew Poppy. And yet, he sounded just like her when they argued, that calm collected attitude slowly rolling into an avalanche of emotions. The way how he said things like “We shouldn’t be fighting like this”or the way his face got all rounded when Abigail raised her voice. All she could see was Poppy… Her eyes, her, attitude, vocabulary.How could he perfectly emulate someone he barely knows, when she’s spent years… Is this the world getting back at her? For playing with the bounds of nature, by having a child with a hybrid of a monster. To punish her for following her heart?.. She often catches herself flipping through these thoughts. And unintentionally takes it out on Isaiah.

MU Fanfic Fun fact: Unscrabbles reputation. 

The Unscrabbles Is a small band that my OC Isaiah leads. They are a very well perceived group on campus. In terms of them being likable and genuine monsters. However the frats like JOX, EEK and PNK, have a more neutral stance when it comes to the band. With only a few members from some frat and sorority being friends with some of the band members.

This is because the band constantly challenges the idea of what makes a "true monster". This goes against the ideologies held in the Greek system, but since the band doesn't really cause any real trouble for them and they're not straight up ass holes. They all simply coexist.

Reputation scale

ΣΣΚ: 6/10 Neutral: One member is currently dating the band’s bass player (Rue). The other members of the sorority don’t seem to mind.

ΡΝΚ: 8/10 Good: The drummer is a part of the sorority. The other members enjoy teasing the band. (It’s all in good fun)

JΘΧ: 5/10 Neutral: Neither side has friends. They stay neutral to keep the peace.

OK 10/10 allies : Isaiah joins them to support them throughout the scare games.

ΗSS 10/10 allies: Isaiah is the sorority’s Sweetheart(ambassador). Due to his mother’s ties with the sorority in the past, and because him and his band share similar interests like style, and music taste.

RΩR 3/10 Very mixed opinions: Johnny and Isaiah are currently dating, and Chet seems to really like Isaiah. But the other members see Isaiah as a distraction, and a threat to the beliefs held throughout the Greek system. If the other members had it their way they wouldn’t even consider being associated with the band.

Maw Au sketch dump

Let’s do some recapping plus new updated lore.

Randall managed to escape the human world on his own by building a door from the other side. During this time he was able to steal a gun as well, killing the human who owned it. Later on he from a small monster rebel group, that sabotages any power companies using or switching to laugh power.

Claire is married to a woman in this Fanfic and is the finance chief at Monsters Inc. she’s leading an independent investigation with the help of Johnny, Isaiah, and mift. To figure out who who’s behind stolen laugh canisters and monsters disappearing.. 

Johnny still keeps his role as Fear co.’s new CEO. But now as an Extremely overworked rich ass hole. Despite his attitude, he’s extremely helpful and plays  a critical role in the investigation.

Isaiah is Monsters Inc marketing manager. Him and Johnny are Exs who broke up on extremely bad terms. He’s in constant discourse with Johnny, and only tolerates him during the investigation. 

It in fact was REALLY bad

Isaiah redesign 

I had recently made a new character that’s a ship character for Joy, in MAW. And I decided to also make this character the drummer in Isaiah’s band. Her whole outfit mogged everyone in the band, so I decided to redesign Isaiah including the two other members cuz they all looked chopped compared to her. And well she still mogs everyone, but it’s a bit more balanced.

Also I kinda wanted to slightly redo Isaiah for a while.

I keep on forgetting to post my things here so here’s a art haul

For some who don’t know, Isaiah has something called Anthropostheríony which is the monster version of Lycanthropy. Instead of turning into a werewolf, he turns into a human. A werehuman. (I know so creative)

Werehuman's exact origins are unknown, but it's highly speculated they use to inhabit the human world, and later on integrated themselves into the monster World. But that is only a theory.

Werehuman's default form is their monster body. which makes maintaining their human forms for long periods of time quite difficult

No one's sure if it's magic or some sort of biological aspect that makes Werehuman's transform. not even Werehumans themselves know anymore, for most of their origins and past has been lost to time.

Transformations can be heavily tied to emotions when a werehuman hasn’t achieved “balance”. Balance is just being able to transform at will, and control any emotional flair ups. Emotional transformations are most common in younger Werehuman’s from ages 1-12.

Isaiah, has not yet achieved balance due to his parents pressuring him to never transform throughout his life. Transforming is a vital part to werehumans. Suppressing transformations, or not transforming occasionally will take a heavy toll on your emotions, eventually leading to more frequent emotional outburst that are accompanied by transformations. And unfortunately, for Isaiah he experiences these emotional outburst frequently, but only when he is alone.

I like Claire. So let’s make her the main character of my MAW AU.

She is not married to Johnny in this AU. She takes on the role of monsters inc’s Chief financial officer. She has a Wife, and Mabye one kid (I’m still deciding on that).

The story will follow her day-to-day life working at monsters Inc. but as time goes on things will start to seem off. Laugh canisters are suddenly going empty. Companies who are switching to laugh power are experiencing theft, and vandalism. And a few employees from Monsters inc have gone missing. Claire decides too do her own investigations, accompanied by MIFT. Together they try to figure out who is behind all of these events.

Many of you may already know the story, and I’m not really planning to hide spoilers. I’m not sure if I’ll write a full fan fic of this. So for now I’ll just make drawing posts with information attached to them. I’m not a writer😅.
