On Nov 5, 1992, officials from the Russian Ministry of Education invited a group of over 8,000 Christian teachers to join the CoMission--a group of 60 evangelical Christian organizations formed to instruct Russian public teachers how to teach Christian ethics. The effect this partnership had on Russia's 1990 church-state law is examined.

The author explains how Soviet regime influenced understanding of church education, and provides overview of common educational programs for adults. Some deficiencies of church education may be corrected only after assuming significance of Christian education and its inherence to spiritual growth.
