Random headcanon i had:

Expunged and Bandu where both created in a lab (they are in the internet now because of other humans thinking they were dangerous) by two siblings (Zak and Eri)

They both can sizeshift (tho Bandu needed to grow up more to do that. And in his Bambi form. He can't. That's why he never did it in applecore or sugar rush.) Since Expunged COULD sizeshift. He was causing problems every time.

(Zak is the one with the red outfit, and Eri is the on the green outfit. As you can see, Zak created Expunged and Eri created Bandu with the same ADN but with little changes on each other)

This whole post is wonderful, but I think a lot of people don’t realise just how rare bilateral gynandromorphs are. Research has shown that only approximately 1 in 6,000 butterflies is a bilateral gynandromorph! So thanks so much @oddity-txt for sharing this wonderful being with us!
