Hey, everyone! This is gonna be a place for me to post about my very special lil guys who mean the world to me (even when they get their noses stuck in paper bags like idiots)

Folks can call me Core, or literally whatever you like! I might do an actual name reveal eventually. I have a Lucario (Mug) and a Sableye (Pobble) and live in Galar. They are my blorbos. My precious Bambinos. My most expensive bastard children.

Survived pokemon professor courses at University, technically qualified! I'm in between work atm but doing my best.

Surf? A giant wave of water that your pokemon can ride. A thunderous tide. Invokes the ocean.

Thunderbolt? Arcing flashes of electricity zap you.

Flamethrower? Fire breath, fire throwing, an arc of propelled flame is classic.

Ice beam? It's a beam. Of ice. Could've been a gust of frigid wind, or a frost incursion, or being entombed in a glacial slab, but noooooo it's a beam. Of ice.

Just swung by the Academy after hearing more classes were available, and took them all. But History class in particular was... interesting. Ms. Raifort told me a story that sounded strange, but considering the stuff that goes on in this world and with Pokémon, is probably true.

Reminder during this heat wave that Fire Types are also at risk of overheating. The heat from their fire builds up in them if they can't release it, and their environment being too hot can add to that.

Sorry about your collector’s plushie! But now you’ve got a loyal little buddy, so it seems a pretty fair trade-off!

Mimikyus, unlike a lot of ghost types, will primarily eat regular Pokemon food. If yours isn’t taking what you’re giving it yet, I’d recommend waiting to build up trust with it first. Mimikyus are pretty skittish as a whole, it likely wants to bond but doesn’t yet trust the food you’re giving it.

If you want to speed up the process, I’d recommend chesto berries! Wild mimikyus often eat them, so it may be a familiar treat to your new friend! Thanks for the ask!

feel free to ignore if this isn't something you're comfortable answering, but do you ever see cases of abused friendship evos?

very rarely, but i have seen it. neglect is more common- people will either be unprepared for the evolution in general or won't realize just how much social attention many friendship evolutions need after they evolve. these pokemon tend to come in with a lot of anxiety and behavioral issues from lack of social engagement, which makes them tricky to get into a new home. as a couple examples, i've worked with a sylveon who wrapped its ribbons so tight around my arms that it hurt and a lucario that pretty much obliterated an entire room when left by itself for too long, and those were both cases where their previous trainer just didn't give them the attention they needed.

some trainers get frustrated by the clinginess of their pokemon post-evolution and will take it out on the pokemon, and there are rare individuals out there who get fulfillment from hurting a pokemon that trusts them so deeply. thankfully, though, true abuse cases are very rare. most cases of mistreatment are the result of lack of education or resources.

Hi, I've got a small school of Feebas and noticed something odd about one of them. This one lil guy has always been particularly majestic, but his crest dorsal fin is getting absurdly long. Like a ponytail kinda, very pretty!

Could it be a sign of getting ready to evolve, or is he just Particularly Fabulous? I don't battle with these pretties at all so didn't even THINK evolution was on the table... How would you even give a fish an everstone if it is the case??

it does sound like he might be getting ready to evolve! feebas evolve when their body condition is particularly high, resulting in a much less "ragged" appearance. you can always check with your vet to make sure.

as far as keeping fish unevolved, it's usually recommended to line the bottom of their tank or pond with everstone gravel, making sure to include a few full-sized everstones throughout. there are some great guides on setting up everstones in aquatic enclosures on hobby aquarist forums!

Hi, just curious!

If a crocalor, lets say, lost its egg, what would it do? Not real reason for asking! Just wanted to know! Could I replace it with a normal egg? Would it react?

it would be hard for a crocalor to really "lose" the egg, since it's actually just an egg-shaped fireball that results from all the energy that pours out the top of its head. it's not until a crocalor evolves into skeledirge that the fireball is able to move independently of it. the fireball can go out, but that usually only happens if the crocalor is extremely sick. if the fireball were to get dislodged, it would dissipate before long.

putting anything onto crocalor's head will probably just result in it catching on fire. i don't really recommend putting an actual egg there, because if the crocalor shakes its head, it's going to fling hot egg at you.

Standard practice for any place of business is quite simple: If we see an unauthorized Porygon or Rotom moving towards our computer systems, our highest priority is to unplug the computer immediately before the Pokémon can get into it. This is extremely frustrating for us due to potential data loss, not to mention the time it takes to boot back up and get running.

However, even a Pokémon clinic has highly confidential information. People's names and addresses. Lists of health concerns. A Porygon in these systems could easily copy or steal that data, which would be a breach of the trust our patients and their Trainers have put in us.

Train your Pokémon better. Do not allow them to explore random machines. Keep them to the devices they are permitted to be in.
