I’ve been seeing your iwtv videos on tiktok, and I was wondering why I already followed you because I didn’t follow anyone in the iwtv fandom yet, briefly checked but hardly scrolled and didn’t recognise say the artfight videos, so I shrugged it off. Then I check again, today, scroll further, and it is YOU

Now, the reason this is such a huge «oh my god» moment is that I just got into the serie myself, and remember thinking as I was analysing the characters that I would love to hear your point of view on an alternative shipname for Devil’s Minion (I think that’s it?), if you’d want to share your opinion on it. I didn’t yet know where it came from then and now that I do it does make more sense, but at the time I wasn’t too big a fan of it and started to think about alternatives, and remembered your posts about shipnames. So! If that’s something you’d want to explore then I would love to read your take on potential options, if not then that’s of course completely fine as well!!

I don’t Love “devil’s minion” as the Armand/Daniel ship name for a few reasons.

While it is very relevant and recognizable, but only immediately to book fans and doesn’t really make much sense when applied to the show. I could look past this.

My main objection is that the “Devil’s Minion” is Daniel, so it is skewed towards him because, while it does reference Armand, it is essentially just a nickname for Daniel.

if you want to combine their names you can get “Armaniel” or “Darmand” but those don’t follow the rule about an overlapping vowel keeping it’s original pronunciation so they are far from perfect.

I would prefer the ship name be “Devil Minion” or “devilminion” over “devil’s minion” because then it refers to both of them, but it is kind of abstract for the ship in the show because iirc they have never been referred to in this way.

You could go “armandaniel” which follows all the rules. It looks like a mouthful, but it has the same number of syllables as “catradora” (which is an excellent shipname).

I usually just say “Armand and Daniel” though.
