A stranger stands before you. Although she reminds you of someone familiar, it’s evident that something is off.
A being known by many names, this Tessa started like any other. Her story diverged at the Gala, where she fought the Absolute Solver from within. In the struggle for control, The Solver was forced to make a choice between death and defeat. Understanding the latter far more than the former, it opted to take itself and the universe out with one swift NULL.
Tessa awoke floating in a dark void. Her body had warped and erupted into a horrifically massive eldritch monstrosity. She had inherited the abilities of The Solver in the wake of her world’s destruction. She could not control her powers or form, much less undo the damage that had been done. She was trapped, and she was alone. Anyone else would’ve gone insane. She should’ve gone insane. Instead, she held tight to her love and her memories and, most importantly, her determination. Maybe it took days, or maybe it took years, but through the power of spite and human spirit, she managed to pull her body back into something a little more human.
It wasn’t long after that she figured out how to tear through reality. She had a mission. Exterminate The Solver wherever she could find it in whatever form it took. Every last bit of her will went into her search, but it only led to a startling revelation. She didn’t need to prevent another tragedy like hers because someone else had it handled in almost every universe she visited. A small, feisty drone defeated The Solver over and over. Uzi won every time. Tessa’s fate was a fluke, and she was unneeded. She had no home and no place in the story. Her thirst for vengeance fizzled, and all that remained was a sickeningly hollow feeling.
Now, this Tessa wanders the wider multiverse with nothing left to do but explore. She’s listless and losing her grip on her humanity by the day, but she still forces a smile. She spends her time adventuring to fill the aching hole in her soul where her friends and home used to be. She can’t go back, so she must move forward. For them.
