What's the best video game easter egg you've ever found?

Okay, Idk about the best, but the funniest was in a porn game I can't remember the title of right now. It started as an overwatch fan game, and turned into an original concept, but it still has a bunch of meme references to other games.

The Easter egg in particular happened when you went into the bathroom stall with a glory hole while nobody was in the building. The music would cut out, and a creepy, distant wind sound would play, and after like a minute of waiting, the text

* But nobody came.

would come up, Undertale font and everything. And Idk if it was the double entendre, or how well executed the Easter egg was for a (at the time) free game, but I just lost it. Mood gone, laughing my ass off so hard I scared multiple cats and someone came to check on me.

A mobile game called Survive by Juuso Hietalahti. It's on Android, and it combines gorgeous sound effects with a simplistic but pleasant to the eye art style, and an intuitive UI design and crafting system. I sound like an ad, but it's SO good.

It's mostly text based, but there is so much strategy to how you play. I can't remember if it has ads or not, since I bought the full game years ago before he added more locations/ crafting recipes/even better art. It can be played in short bursts when you have time, or binged for hours at a time. It's a really flexible game with a solid gameplay style. Also there's achievements, difficulty settings, and a leveling system that unlocks more tools/traits/ways to play as you go.

What game feels like "home" to you no matter when you come back to it?

Undertale got me through a really bad time. I had a breakdown, lost my job, lost my home, and spent over a year homeless, and slowly gave in to a chronic pain condition I didn't know I had.

But I also met some of my closest and most amazing friends, through the community provided by that game, and I learned a lot about myself in the process. This stopped being a RP account a long time ago, but I'm still the same perseverance/integrity soul who started this blog. I'll always get soft when I hear "Home" play, or when I smell cinnamon and butterscotch.

The game was a home that I didn't have for a time. I'll always love it and the people it brought into my life.

The Exmortis series terrified me as a teen, but I just kept coming back to it. Something about the combination of religious imagery, the end of the world, the loop of the first game feeding into itself if you manage to escape, creating the inevitability that everything that comes next is all your fault, and that the world only lasts as long as you do. It just hit that perfect spot in my head where I had to know more, but I couldn't bear to look.

It's such a shame that between the death of Flash, and the creator kind of selling out, it never got a proper ending.

There are a few of these.

SSX Snowboarding was one of my first video games that really got me playing even when my brother wasn't around. I was maybe between 6 and 8. I always played as Kaori because I thought she was really cute.

The next one was Final Fantasy 7. I played it on a borrowed Playstation while I had the flu. I kept the system running the whole time, and only had access to a memory card during the day while I was switching discs and my brother's friend who lent us the Playstation was visiting. He had a second one and was using the memory card the rest of the time. I was 14, and had just moved to Vegas.

Exmortis, Soviet Rocket Giraffe: Go! Go! Go!, Exit Path, Daymaretown and the Submachine series were the flash games of my late teens from 17 to 19. There wer others, but I came back to those ones again and again.

Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes, Persona 4, Flower, Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch, and Assassin's Creed defined pretty much 90% of my free time when I first moved out of my brother's house to live with my girlfriend from 21 to 23.

After that it gets less defined, and my moments of obsession are fewer and further between.
