I've been wondering lately if, upon witnessing Entrapta—who was thought to be dead by the horde but actually wasn't, made the rebellion all collectively develop a mentality of "IF I AIN'T SEE NO BODY, THEY'RE NOT DEAD YET"

Because why do they keep trying to save the others that should have a high chance of being dead, higher than Entrapta ever had in the 1st season. Sometimes, not a hint of second thought when going back for them.

They have no business thinking Glimmer was alive after getting captured by a intergalactic space cult who was actively terrorizing Etheria in the same breath. They had no reason to think Catra would've been kept around after that concerning message of her fighting off clones.

(Not counting Glimmer's capture by the Horde in Season 1, because the rebellion had a reason to think she was still kicking because of the deal and leverage use. So obviously they'd think she was still as well as they hoped to save her.)

Entrapta gets left behind, maybe because the rebellion thought that—if the Frightzone is as bad as it is, the Horde would have gotten rid of Entrapta on the spot since they had no use of her.

But after finding out she wasn't gone, and now on the other side of the war, they unconsciously swore to never let it happen again. No matter how bad the situation could be, they won't give up on them as easily unless they see them dead themselves.

It does suck that it took Entrapta's sake to learn that, but it did give them a reason to hope a little more of 'what if I can still save them'

Might not have been paying attention to canon as much,

But I headcanon the kingdom of Dryl to be only a recently established kingdom, founded and built by young Entrapta herself.

As in, some prodigy child inventor just decided to live in some mountains building a whole labyrinth castle and nobody bothered to stop her. Infact, went ahead and had it recognized as its own kingdom by law of whoever's in-charge at the time. Maybe for good graces and better access to scientific discovery if ever, or at least something that would be used against the horde. It would've been easier to get her into the Princess Alliance too, which was where most actions as a whole were made and agreed upon at the time.

Which would explain why Entrapta doesn't align with the established lore of princesses all having a runestone. And how no history of anything in any part of the kingdom of Dryl is ever shown, not even a painting of an ancestor or a recent ruler in the framed pictures in her halls. And how the people in her kingdom was quite frankly so little, like the kitchen staff.

People say that "fiction doesn't affect reality",

But my father used to have a "grades matter the most" mentality that he threw fits of rage, kicked my sister out of the house many times, and many other harsh things just because of a bad grade.

—That the lowest grade I've EVER got was an 84 and it was still bad.

This, until my father watched this K-drama about this high-class neighborhood—whose parents pushed their kids to be the best in school, to brink of exhaustion. To the point of killing eachother and themselves, and having the lowest self-esteem imaginable.

Only then, after him watching that, did I see him sort of mellow down.

So in conclusion, fiction can have a huge impact, for better or for worse. Which in my case, for the best.

I feel bad that I'm usually doing the opposite of what you're supposed to do when picking favorites in fiction.

I don't find a show and form attachment with the characters during or after watching. I don't gravitate towards fan favorites.

No.

I have a character/ship roll into my vicinity in my lovely Pinterest or YouTube recommendations, then I would try to ignore it being in my radar. To let it simmer in the back of my mind for weeks, then progress into looking at fan art of said fiction if it's still on my mind. Then character deepdives.

Then,

Only then, would I consider watching the show they are from.
