kay so basically bleach ended today and the thing is that i havenāt given two shits about this series since like 2012?? i think idk itās been a while. but the story went downhill like a LOOOOOONG time ago. like the last arc was such a clusterfuck i just didnāt bother reading it.
anywho these two characters has SUCH buildup and such good chemistry aka ichigo and rukia. ya so theyāre like the super poplar ship, both with western fans and with japanese fans also apparently. like they were THE SHIP. but itās more than that!! cause she was actually relevent to the plot line, esp with helping ichigo deal with depression over his momās death, and when he learnt he was part hollow. like shit girl u a tru friend actually supporting ichigoās tired ass.
Ā but there was this other chikypoo, orihime. ya know long hair big boobs, called the main character _____-kun. sound familiar?? coughhinatacough
and of cooooooourse ichihime is the ship that happens despite the main having no romantic inclinations previously, and rukia ends up with her childhood friend who never actually apologized for treater her like shit when she got arrested. of course they all look like theyāre happily married and still 17 and its such a mess since thereās a SLEW of plotlines that just got abandoned like tf
i dunno how much i believe the rumour that wsj forced kubo to end it but it sure as shit seems that way. i mean thereās like thereās noooo resolution what so ever. and while the whole fam thing was still kidna shocking in naruto, it just came outta left field with bleach. like i know the narrativeās been fucked for so long, but still this kindaĀ āweāre all settled n happy n iām-not-a-shinigami-anymore ichigoā has no place in this narrative.
then thereās chad the gentle giant who didnāt like fighting fucking becoming a boxing champion or w/e
thereās more thatās wrong but w/e itās fucked like kubo
but the thing that fucking pisses me off is shippers who ONLY see through shipping goggles think this is aĀ āwinā or a great fucking ending because theyāre super precious totally-made-for-each-other ship is together. like orihime had her plot relevent moments too, donāt get me wrong. she was strong in her support role, but she was always the secondary female lead, yet these shippers treat her like sheās the star of the show, despite the fact that rukia & ichigo are often detected as two sides of the same coin. like even taking all the romantic subtext outta their story, theyāre both still soooo important to one another.
but NOPE itās the ichigo and orihime show. yup.
the series is just a shade of itās former self, and i pity you who actually thing itās good and ship ichihime.
