Just a little rant that I can’t post anywhere else lol

Went to our local OHL teams game last night with some friends for my husbands birthday. I was put on the end of the row, because at 8.5 months pregnant I’m not about to try and squeeze by everyone when I need to pee.

These season ticket holders sitting kiddy corner to us made it fucking MISERABLE and my hormones were already on edge.

My friends (like 5 of them) had gone to get some drinks and snacks, and were coming back to our seats. I stood up for a moment so that they didn’t have to climb over me, and these assholes start screaming at me. “SIT DOWN WE CANT SEE. HURRY UP. WOW YOURE JUST GOING TO STAND THERE?!” When the period hadnt even started and there was NOTHING going on. Literally just the refs skating.

I’m non confrontational, like I will go out of my way to avoid it…..but how are you going to yell at someone for standing to let people get to their seats??? Let alone a clearly pregnant woman. I turned around so fast and called them on their shit. I told them they didn’t have to be rude, and they could wait thirty seconds for people to get to their seats. They start mumbling under their breath about disrespect and people being obnoxious. Sorry to inconvenience you for less than a minute…..but if you don’t want people to be in your way then maybe don’t sit in the last row? Maybe get front row seats.

My favorite part was after the game was over, their seats had their names on them with indicators that they were season ticket holders. I was like huh that’s nice. Be rude to people when your name is on your seat 🤦🏼‍♀️. The town that our local team is in is known for not being the best, and I work at the hospital nearby so I KNOW that people in this town are crazy. All I could think about was they’re so lucky that im not one of the unstable people that would literally find them on Facebook and message them.

TL;DR Can we just learn how to be fucking nicer to people?????

I hate anti-vaxers now. Actively loathe them. There was a time where I had a modicum of empathy and understanding for people being distrustful of the medical establishment, even though every study has shown that vaccines are safe and effective and beneficial, I know some wounds are hard to heal. Now? If you’re seeing the people regurgitating anti-vaccine misinformation and witnessing their agendas, reading the news reports of diseases that were nearly eradicated coming back to kill children again, hearing the distress and fear from medical professionals and parents of immunocompromised children and still saying “Hmm.
