I really want to see fanart, fanfic, post, I'll take anything, about the fall out between spider gang and miles. I'm talking the universe said "fuck you" to both sides and made shit go sideways and fast.

Miguel said Miles dad had to die? Universe took both of his parents.

Miles still has Ganke? Universe takes him too

Miles has already seen two people die in front of him? Universe add four more and make it back to back, that little girl his dad died for, yeah she gotta go too.

Peter said Miles is a tough kid? Universe said to break him when they barely win and have him go right into shock.

Miguel said cannon events (his predictions) will stabilize the multiverse? The spot almost wipes 1610 out and nearly takes miles with it.

Peter and Gwen were only trying to do the right thing? Miles has lost everyone close to him and can never get them back.

Gwen wants to go back to the way things were? Too bad Miles can never give her that kind of trust again. He definitely can't love her in that potential romantic way again because she hurt him.

Peter wants to help the kid through this tough time? To come to an understanding? Miles understands, and he gets why Mayday comes first. But Peter hurt him too, so there are going to be a long heart to heart and a lot of tears. Their relationship has to start from scratch and slowly heal from there.

Miguel didn't think things would turn out like this? He thought Miles was the cause that he couldn't even clock the spot? He had to carry back a catatonic Miles back to hq to rush him to medical because the shock very nearly finished what the spot started.

Miguel wants to apologize? Wants Miles to get better? Miles is terrified of him, not because of his looks, but because of his actions. But they are both each other's triggers, so the first two month (out of the hospital) or so, they send each other into outburst and panic attacks. Miles is triggered by the chase. Miguel is triggered by feeling reminded of Gabriel by Miles eyes, smile, and some similarities in personality. They get there eventually, and I feel like they'll get there before peter and Miles get there. Mostly because Miguel and Miles didn't know each other like that.

Friends want to visit Miles while he's recovering? Nope, they set him off into a panic or aggressive outburst. The only person that can go in or near miles is Hobbie. At some point Pav and Mayday worm their way in. Nearing the end of his hospital stay Porker, peni, and noir also work their way in. But Hobbie becomes important to Miles very quickly as a point of trust. His main support system are Hobbie and Pav.

My point is that I want to see "your actions have consequences" and not only with Miguel. Yeah , he played a big part, but let's be honest, it all felt like a huge mental breakdown. But Peter? He was Miles's mentor, and he looked up to him. And Gwen knew Miles longer than peter did and Miles was obviously crushing on her. So, she had to hurt the most out of the two.

I just want some juice angst for everyone.

Mind is humming today

What if Spider was taken back to brigdehead? But instead of interrogating him, which is now sort of useless to the RDA, they hand Spider off to the scientists. While they send Quraitch (and whoever else [you want] made it onto another mission without a break.

Maybe Quraitch knows??? But I think he most likely wouldn't since he's trying to keep whoever(s) he got left of his team alive. Or maybe trying to work out a medical leave for them. Which is enough time for the RDA to take Spider somewhere only they know.

The scientists, of course, take Spider as a lab rat of sorts to test theories they've had for a while. My mind goes into two directions with this. (1) How to get humans to breathe Pandora's air to stop wasting money on making rebreathers and to make money on genetic alterations. (2) Can we make a complete and functional avatar body by using a human body to cut funds down on the avatar/recom program.

Both have good angst potential. But for me, 2 feels so much more juicer. Just because it gives spider a higher chance of running away when the scientists go to field test him. But also imaging Quraitch and Jake reactions at realizing who the new avatar is and what the RDA did to Spider because they left him.

Idk just spider angst is something I like to scratch because he's got so much potential to be hurt and have his hurt cause a butterfly effect to those around him.

Idk if someone has talked about this or not, but imma say what's on my mind anyway.

I feel like Spider is a lot smart than what he lets on. It's just that it was easier to have everyone think he's dumb. But it's also easier/kinder (?) to himself to pretend he doesn't know that people want him out of pandora or just gone in general. It's like it's a mask and a self-defense mechanism. He can't be hurt if he doesn't get it, right?

The culprit (as with a few other DDOS attacks recently) is Anonymous Sudan, a group that is likely Russian, not Sudanese. The ‘reason’ they gave–that AO3 is “full of disgusting smuts and other LGBTQ+ and NSFW things,” is thin and probably not completely legit, though still legitimately concerning.

DDOS protection is expensive especially for a high traffic site like ao3. And it’s uniquely vulnerable as an independent site without ads or other corporate support. SPECIFICALLY targeted bc of its queer works and yet ppl will still complain every time they ask for donations lmao

The whole cannon event and universe collapsing things has got me thinking. Miguel's way of seeing time and space seems to be in a linear format, which doesn't make much sense. Because there are many variety and vast differences of spider people and their origin stories right.

(idk where I heard this or if this was discussed in a science class at one point). But the thing is that space and time are not linear. Rather, space and time run in a wave like flow, right. But there's also the factor that the universe has not, and as far as we know, it will not stop growing/expanding.

So, this would imply there is no set direction, a universe, or dimension must take. Because the universe has not stopped growing and changing, dimensions have not stopped growing and changing.

Then there's Miguel's whole reason of being jaded, bitter, guilt consumed, and traumatized. Aka, a universe collapsing on him for wanting to raise his daughter from another dimension. I really don't think that one man could be the cause of a whole universe collapse. There are trillions upon trillions of living and sentient creatures in any given universe. One person doing one change could not cause that severe level of damage to a universe. So, there had to be more at play as to why the universe that miguel chose to interfere in for it to collapse like that.

It's like nature. If something causes an environment to change, it's just nature reacting to various factors. Take a clown fish, for example. A female clown fish is the head of the school, and there is only one female clown fish. This is because the only way to have male clown fish is for the female to create a stressful environment. There are other species that change gender in response to their environment, lacking certain factors needed to continue the life cycle. So, if earth can do that, the universe can too.

But also, there is not enough data to prove that Miguel himself had cause that single collapse. There is not enough data on the difference and similarities between every spider person's universe. Like, difference in race, city, gender, orientation, family, friends, building, food, plants, colors, name, neighbors, and the entire population of earth. So, we don't know if there are set factors in every universe that had a shift or if only certain universe had certain factors while others have different factors.

If there are different spider people, then there have to be different factors and constructs in different universes. That can come to even the genetic makeup of the universe to the day cycle of the universe.

But if Miles was such a big anomaly, and his world had a spiderman, why didn't his universe collapse? I mean, a radioactive enhanced spider bite Miles and his spiderman days not far behind. And wouldn't the spider society interference cause a destabilization of the universe they interact in when its not their's??

It makes no sense how Miles becoming spiderman caused that big of a butterfly affect. To me, it even seems that Miles was his universe why of working with a shift happening rather than against it. "Peter Parker, this universe spiderman dies? No problem. I'll fix this immediately." That's what it feels like.

But there's also Spider Society basically saying that to be a spider, you have to lose a loved one to become a spider. But Peter got his power before his uncle died, and Miles origin story mimics that. Except, Miles uncle was a villain vs a regular guy.

So, Miles did love a loved one and sacrificed things that used to be his normal life to create his new norm. It's just that Miguel's equation and justication don't make sense to me.

Maybe I'm thinking about it the wrong way? Or just overthinking it in general? Just it feels like the whole spider society was a huge and minimum data/ researched bet.

Practical tip for those dealing with wildfire smoke now: you can make a very effective air filter for a reasonable amount of money using a box fan & one of those filters meant for your furnace.

Also, I've managed to pick up 2 of the box fans for very cheap/free from yard sales. Make sure you get a filter rated for wildfire smoke, I think this one cost about $20.

These make a huge difference in the indoor air quality.

Posting again because of the fire situation up in Canada and resulting smoke. If you're dealing with wildfire smoke, these are surprisingly effective and relatively cheap.

Just tape the filter to the fan, making sure the air can't sneak around the edges. I used painter's tape, but I'm sure duct tape or similar would work just as well.
