Just a small personal rant, I hate my brain 😭

Okay, hate is a strong word, but being a freelancer, my work is very unpredictable. Yesterday my inbox was completely empty, and I have been stressing out lately how I'll mentally handle the summer quieting down for work. Like I know I'm fine for the summer, but it's stressful not to know if I can continue like this without taking extra job like I had to do last year.

Today, I woke up to 7 new emails and more coming in, basically making sure I'm booked the next couple days, so that's great. But now my brain is like "how about now, we hyperfixate on everything else than work, so you can't get anything done?" 😑

How many of you care if the guys would have had any other partners or such before MC? Canonically MC is the only one for them and I'm not denying that at all with this post.

But for the sake of the question, if we are talking purely out of your preference, would you want them to have previous partners or not? And of course, there wouldn't be any cheating or lingering feelings, just that they have more romantic and/or sexual experience outside of MC and those exes aren't relevant anymore.

Would you care if the LADS had previous partners outside of MC?

It would be a dealbreaker for me, a complete turn off

Huh, such a fascinating result, completely going the other way than I expected! Genuinely I thought the majority would have go for options 1 and 2. I'm just surprised, since I often think what people might want to answer and sometimes it's way off what I thought, this is one of those cases 👀

Also really interesting to see how many headcanon them actually having previous experience outside of MC. I'm really curious to know more of these headcanons, so feel free to drop them into my inbox as anon if you want to!

The realism lover in me would have loved to see them having some experience, like small crushes or even maybe a proper ex. But I totally see why they didn't do it, since outside of potential jealousy, it's going quite badly against the narrative.

So thank you, my love, for the tag and for the opportunity to show my girl.

This is Arya, Rafayel's Cutie. She's a bit light headed and clumsy, and she daydreams a lot. In her naivity, she sometimes let others take the best of her, but when she realizes it, the woman turns into a storm and you better step out of the way.

Her opinion is many times overlooked or ignored, and she tended to share her thoughts less and less because of that, until Rafayel. Fishie seems to be the only one who understands her and she's not ashame to share what's going on on her mind around him.

She loves fiercely, and she will protect the ones she loves until the end. Rafayel is a very lucky bastard 🥰

I might be starting to collect some ideas for a long fic about those two. Let's see if I can pull it through 😬

This is my MC, Newt.

I don't self-insert, I usually create characters and Newt is actually one of my oldest OCs from an original cyberpunk story I started writing when I was 18. I thought she would fit well in the Love and Deepspace world. My LADS story for her deviates from the canon, if you've read the fics I wrote with her and her Evol is different too. She does have an Aethercore. She did meet her Sea God as a child and did get her memories of that encounter erased. She loves motorcycles, she loves cute stuff and sweets, loves plushies and gathers them. She loves animals, both on land, in the sky and in the sea.

Last but not least, she is a devoted follower of her Sea God.

I don't actually have much to tell about her since I self-insert, and for me, she's just more like a pawn to experience the game. I have to praise the period tracker 🫣

I'm still very amazed how accurate the period tracker is for me. I know it's not for people who have irregular periods, but the LADS tracker is quite on point, with some misses with a day or two, which is perfectly normal.

But also, in addition it being quite accurate, it actually has changed how well I keep track of them and I'm more aware of my body when I get them. I used to have another app for tracking them, but I basically only remembered to put my start date there, and then forget it until the next period, so I had no idea how long my periods even were. LADS proved my 5 days estimation was wrong, and it's actually 6 😭

The prewarning has actually helped me to notice more symptoms I have before them and react accordingly. Like I notice I'm much more distractible, low mood, emotional and low energy when I'm nearing my periods. It does help me to realise it's just hormones being whack.

And, since I play LADS so much, Rafayel's lines about the period remind me to mark the ending date for them. Because I just wouldn't remember it otherwise 🫣 I just wish for me I could just mark the symptoms too 😭 I guess I need to do a period journal on the side and have it on hand when I get my period...

About the card rotations 🤔 (Sorry long yap)

I don't check the predictions that others make, but I still enjoy speculating myself. I noticed last year the rumors and predictions kill the fun for both waiting the banners and speculating what's coming up, so this is just me thinking out loud the patterns I and others have noted about the rotation.

FIrst of all, as Raf main, yikes 🫣 Currently Rafayel is up next for both multi and solo rerun, for a new solo card and a new myth. I was hoping the solo would be later in the year, but it's looking actually kinda intimidating now. The solo rotation started 2 months earlier than last year, but they also have tightened the whole rotation.

Time difference between Zayne's 2025 and 2026 banners was around 10 months. For Xavier it was another around 10 months, but for Sylus, it's only around 8 months.

It could be that now there's a wave of reruns and myths with multis in between like last summer. We still have Zayne's GoA rerun coming up before we get new myths. Since we have a week in between for Caleb's birthday event and ending Sylus's solo, I assume we are going to get Entwined Shadows rerun in between.

After Caleb's birthday, it gets interesting. Unless they will make the summer 6.0 livesteam later, there won't be enough time to do much after Caleb's birthday. Last year, we had LSG and then 4.0 version update. I'm assuming we are going to have GoA rerun instead, which leaves us with around 10 days left until 6.0 version. That would perfectly fit Rafayel's solo 🫣

Now, I'm not a 6th LI truther (I would prefer the game stayed at 5, but I will not be hostile about it) but there's another option with 6th LI. Then the order after Caleb's birthday could be a multi and the 6.0 update would be the 6th LI solo. Usually the LI releases have been that there's a multi before the version update (Entwined Shadows -> Sylus, Nightly Rendezvous -> Caleb). Of course they could surprise us all just releasing 6th LI after Rafayel's solo 🫣

Either way, this is interesting to think about since we had only 1 solo per LI last year (not counting Caleb twice since it was his debut too), similarly how it was after Sylus was released. If this would be the right rotation with Rafayel getting his solo MUCH sooner, Caleb would have his earlier too. But if the 6th LI theory is correct, Rafayel's solo would be later in Autum which would line up with the normal solo rotation. I'm just curious if they will try to push the other solo reruns later this year?

I don't know, I just find the schedule really interesting because they have followed the same one as last year, but made it even tighter than before. This is a screenshot with me trying to compare the events in 2025 and 2026 from this calendar by sunnyhens in Reddit. I marked with Caleb's birthday where it would be, and I counted there's been 14 events this year, when last year there was 11 events before Caleb's birthday.

So, to recap what I think:

Then, two options: A ) GoA rerun, Rafayel solo and 6.0 multi, possibly Raf's next myth coming after that B) Multi with possible Private Trip rerun and 6.0 6th LI solo

I just really hope option A isn't also included with Private Trip rerun because fuck me 😭😭 And I think I need to consider staying R0 with the next multi for Rafayel's card, which sucks. I always like to go for R1 if I like the outfit, but it seems like it's just not feasible with these reruns and the myth looming.

And again, please don't spoil me with the other predictions, especially the ones that are based on rumors or leaks. I hate that I already have seen one possible upcoming multi theme. It annoys me that it's not going to be a surprise for me if it's true. 😭

Omg the Sylus solo 😂 I usually don't have any issues with resisting pulling only Rafayel, I've gotten really used to it, but this one is kind of unhinged enough that I'm tempted 😭 I know I won't pull for it since I am locked in for the reruns and 4th myth for Rafayel, I would be too sad if my soon 60k diamonds wouldn't be enough 🫣

Rippling Blossoms: The Red Flame and Rafayel's mindset - Analysis and Lore (Part 1)

I talked about making an NSFW analysis of this memory, but I quickly realized, it wouldn't be complete without making this one. I have separated this more emotional and lore side of this memory as Part 1 and Part 2 is the more intimate side of this memory with more explicit details. This way if you're not interested in Part 2, you can only read this part for analysing this memory.

I'm still working on Part 2, but I will add a link to it once it's ready. It will have a mature tag on it, so make sure you can see such content if you're curious about it.

Spoilers for Rippling Blossoms, minor mentions from Intertidal Zone and Touring in Love event story.

The painting

First that I will mention is that this painting which MC finds is at least three years old, I believe Rafayel alluded that it was from the same apartment that was mentioned in Vesperine Glimmer, when MC was still a student. Of course I can't be sure about that, but it's interesting to see the connection there again and I feel that location might have something more coming up later.

Anyway, it's safe to say this painting was painted before Rafayel's and MC's meeting in the main story. This will affect to his mindset when he was painting this painting, and what he thinks now of it.

It's mentioned several times MC can't take her eyes off the painting and gets really fixated on it. She feels this painting's red is really special, but cannot tell why. Rafayel tells MC the pigment is made from Flameglow Flowers, and that they are so rare that they are considered almost extinct.

Now, often Rafayel's paintings are more about metaphors and descriptions of his feelings rather than depictions of literal things. A consistent theme around Rafayel's and MC's relationship is that MC didn't really understand his art at all, and eventually, has grown to understand it as she understands Rafayel better too. I want to make a separate post about this later (add that on the pile 😭), but I think this memory is one of those examples where this matters. I think Rafayel here is trying to say that MC only understands this painting and how special the red is because she understands Rafayel the best.

After looking a while, MC notes that it's empty, and Rafayel mentions it too, and admits that he run out of paint when he wanted to finish the painting.

I don't actually buy his excuse that he run out of paint, I think he actually left it empty deliberately.

What the flame represents

So far we know that the flame is so red, like it would burn through the painting and MC couldn't take her eyes out of it. It was alone in the painting, looking empty.

The color theme often represents emotions. Based on color theory, red usually represents love, passion, anger and/or danger (with some cultural variations).

I think the flame is a depiction of his painful feelings of love for MC and as a warning to not get too close. Rafayel describes that something was constantly burning inside of him, painful, but alive with a fiery passion. MC describes the flame like you crave it's warmth, but it burns you when getting too close.

In Touring in Love and in Intertidal Zone, Rafayel describes love as a burning sensation, but always reiterates that he's always willing to get burned for love.

My interpertation is that Rafayel painted the flame alone, because it was the only thing what was keeping him going. It was bright, hard to ignore, but if you got too close, you're getting burned by it. In a way, it was captivating, but also, intimidating, and you have to be careful when approaching it.

He eventually accepted that he needs to take that risk - eventually, he might get burned and hurt. To him, it would still be worth it.

This is why he can't really finish the painting exactly how he felt back then, because he's no longer in that mindset. His dynamic with MC has changed and love doesn't burn him anymore. He is happier, no longer needing to be afraid of being burned.

I loved the ending where it was described what he did with the painting in the end.

He made the flame less intimidating, neither is it in risk of burning anyone. It's still there, but it's being surrounded with mist that is being dispelled by sunlight's glow. The sunlight have become the prominent feature for the painting, which represents happiness Rafayel felt with MC.

Oooh, this is a fascinating question 👀

Spoilers for Rippling Blossoms and a small warning for the themes around it.

Generally speaking, this for me lands in the realm of "imagine whatever you feel comfortable with" since there's no real proof (and there most likely won't be) against it, and it's possibly a sensitive topic. I don't really see an argument why they wouldn't have safe words.

That's why I'm thinking this in more of the lense of "what kind of communication they use during intimate moments" since most likely they have some form of cues to show how they feel about the intensity. It always doesn't have to be a certain word, but overall just body language and gestures in addition to words.

Since LADS is more leaning towards visual storytelling in the kindleds, they like to use more physical cues to show feelings about intensity. For example as non-verbal cues, in Rippling Blossoms MC pushed Rafayel's hand away when she was getting overstimulated. It was a sign for him to give her a break, reinforced with another push on his shoulder.

Then she basically gave her permission to continue by biting him, which he acknowledges. (I go more in detail about the biting in the analysis I'm currently working on, it's just longer than I anticipated 🫣)

Another other types of physical cues would be pulling in closer (like MC did in Omnipotent Perception), physically teasing like tickling (happening both in Ignited Echoes and Rippling Blossoms) and certain types of squeezes. There's very little proof of MC really telling that it's too much yet, maybe we will see more of it later.

One thing is that we have had less safeword like words in the kindleds or other places is just how the storytelling is in LADS. There's more physicality, and safe words would require knowing what they mean, which means they have to explain them.

I have heard that in other languages MC says "stop" during the kindled, which is a verbal cue. I could also Rafayel and MC using the traffic light system (red= stop, yellow=careful, green=go) or more advanced color system for verbal cues based on how they feel. I could totally see Rafayel or MC using pink for being gentler, blue for slow and so on. 👀
