Do otters really hold hands when they sleep? Or is that something someone saw a few otters doing and thought all otters did that?

That’s a Sea Otter thing. As far as my understanding goes, that species isn’t incredibly social with each other, they are kinda loners. They do wrap themselves in kelp to keep from being swept out to sea while sleeping. And during social breeding time I would believe that they hold on to each other as well. But it’s not as human like and emotional as everyone makes it out to be.
