@murderanna
Tick tock.
[Anna actually grinned, raising a brow curiously and reaching up to boop his nose. Boop.]
Getting to you? What ever for, dear? I hardly did a thing. How much of him could there really be on me?
[Nose wrinkled at the boop. But he wasn’t really smiling. More annoyed than anything.]
It’s an awful smell, that’s why.
Hm. I somehow disagree. I don't smell a thing.
[She's just being a little shit and they both know it. She crosses to the chair he had been sitting in and gestures to it.]
Go on, sit back down. I'll tell you what I found out.
[She is definitely going to sit in his lap and be as close as possible now. Yup.]
[His eyes narrowed to slits but he lessened up on the bite. Not about to draw blood on her precious neck just yet.]
You got awfully close to someone.
[She trailed her fingers down the edge of his jacket, up underneath it, to roll her hands over his sides...

[She trailed her fingers down the edge of his jacket, up underneath it, to roll her hands over his sides with slightly less of a barrier.]
It's the hustle and bustle of the city, darling. You worry too much. You know how cramped it is on the sidewalks and all. Besides, he looked like a monkey.
[Well, she certainly wasn't doing a good job of assuring him she hadn't taken the mystery man into consideration for more personal affairs. Oops?]
[He’d been watching the fire burn in the fireplace for some time now. Getting increasingly more agitated as time past. Where was she? Did he need to go after her? But then the sound of the door opening and the clink of jewelry and then her voice was enough to let him know she was there.
As excited as he was to see her, walking smoothly towards her to kiss at her neck and wrap an arm around her waist - he smelled something that didn’t belong. That wasn’t his brand of cologne. Kiss turned into a warning bite.]
Where were you?
[Rumbled thickly.]
[There was a self-satisfied smile on her lips as her eyes closed and her arms wrapped around him, in turn. She was glad to have him to come back to- he was always very happy to see her. Quite like a loyal dog. But when his kiss became a bite she knew she had to be cautious about this.]
I was out getting information about our little dragon problem. I had to do some negotiating.
[She'd made sure to hurry her way back to her fiancee. It wouldn't do to have him skulk about looking for her because she took too long, after all. No, she wanted to assure him that she was alright and there was no need to fly into a tizzy about her whereabouts.
Anna sighed as she walked through the suite door and shut it behind her, bolting the thing, and dropping her coat. Lots of sparkly shimmery bracelets, a glittering necklace- lately she was never without the most shining of diamonds on her person.]
I'm baaaaack.
*Fujiko returned the smile, her own posture a bit more relaxed, if a bit put-on.*
Hm, I’m normally used to dealing with the capture of more inanimate things. But the offer was just a bit too good not to pass up. Don’t know why you think I’m going to turn so easily, particularly for the offer of “maybe not being killed at the end of it depending on your feelings”. Don’t even know what you’re after, just that some fellow with very deep pockets is against you having it.
[Anna's gaze becomes bored and more than a little tired. She shakes her left arm and quite a few sparkling diamond tennis bracelets slip out from under her coat. Wordlessly, she plucks two off and holds them out.]
Take them. If it's seriously just sparkly things and money you're after, I'm absolutely positive that can become part of our exchange. Are you really so easy to appease?
[She shakes her head, almost sadly.]
I don't think anyone knows what I'm after. I think they speculate. And they're probably entirely wrong. I'm looking for a person, not an object.
[Lupin was a little startled by the question. But he didn’t show it. He set his drink down and licked over his lips in thought.]
Not really. I’m kinda on holiday right now.
Holiday? How nice. Maybe we could do something interesting about town- I mean, I'd be just as amiable to seeing your place. Either way, I do love your company so far.
[Very useful.]
[Lupin took the offered card, looking it over curiously before putting it away and returning to his coffee.]
Well, they aren’t hostile unless you threaten them, but that goes for anyone, really.
[She knew what she was doing, huh? What WAS she doing, exactly? And there was something fgamiliar about her he just couldnt’ quite place yet. Hm. Oh, well.
He sipped his beverage.]]
[She shrugged and fidgeted for a moment in her seat- then took a drink again.]
Right, well- anyway. Have any plans tonight?
[Perhaps she could find out more about this place- and this mysterious character- if they spent more time together. She certainly didn't want to kill him right away, he was pretty useful. So far.]
I have no idea if this is true or not.
*Fujiko generally isn’t a huge fan of taking offers to meet people in alleyways, regardless of their supposed intent to “talk it out”. But it’s either that or lose the loot, and show a bit of cowardice to boot.
So fine, she’ll step in. Prepared for a bit more than a chat though.*
Evening.
Evening.
[She flashed the girl a very cold smile. Almost a grimace. When Fujiko was safely tucked away out of sight from the regular crowd bustling about, Anna began to talk, both hands in her coat pockets, posture straight.]
I'm sure you know it's not very wise to be caught by someone you're being hassled to follow. Either you're getting compensation, or I killed someone you had some attachment to adn you think you'll get revenge. Whatever.
[She pulls a hand out of her pocket and waves it in front of her face as if to dismiss the idea.]
I'm not interested in making any moves until I find what I'm looking for in this place. If you help me, I'll help you. And I may not even have a reason to kill you, if all goes well.
Still bored. No sign of the dragon. Getting a little restless. Maybe we need to have our fun and leave. People in this city are too turned around.
Hm.
*Well it’s a lucky thing Fujiko isn’t from Newark, isn’t it? Not that she actually knew much about the woman she was tailing—only that she was of enough interest for people to pay Fujiko to do it. The rest is mostly irrelevant as far as she’s concerned.
Fujiko follows in the direction she’d seen her take off in, but stops, having lost sight of her. Ridiculous really to lose some so easy to spot. Though she is likely hiding. Apparently knows enough not to make it easy for Fujiko.*
[Time to think about her options.
She could stay hidden until the woman was gone, and hope she didn't run into the woman again. She could stay hidden until the woman had just passed, and tail her, which was very risky. She could turn things around and push her for information via threats on her life- or she could just kill the girl. Decisions, decisions.
None of them sounded appealing. She had just wanted to take a stroll. Oh, well. She had to make up her mind now, time was running out. Anna stepped out just a single pace from her hiding place in the alleyway.]
Ahem.
[A small motion with her hand. Come into the dark alley with me, stalker.]
I know you're tailing me. Let's just make this easy on both of us, and chat it out.
