Yk, as someone whose chosen bachelor ingame is Shane because I suffer from chronic I-can-fix-ism, I find it really sad how the community decided to come together to hate on Clint. Sure, he has his moments and is definetely not perfect, but there's no ill intent behind his actions nor does he harm anyone. Shane, for example, is actively an ass to Farmer in the beginning yet people don't seem to hate him because they understand that he's struggling (even if that does not justify his attitude toward Farmer). Similarly, Haley, is... difficult to deal with. She's not a bad person, just immature, but again that doesn't excuse the way she talks about everyone else. Clint, on the other hand, gets the short end of the stick for some reason (coughs)becausehe'snotconventionallyattractiveandmostlikelyneurodivergent(cough). Granted, he has his own faults, I'm not denying that, what I'm trying to say is that everyone is flawed in this game yet the fandom decided to make Clint the scapegoat. Everyone has their least favorite bachelor/ette and they're allowed to joke about it, but I think it's gotten out of hand. Some jokes read to me as genuine hatred toward these kind of people. There're many who identify with Clint and, by extent, feel terrible about themselves because of the way the character they see themselves in is treated. Now, am I reading too much into the whole situation? Most likely. This is not meant to be anything but a little opinion I've had in the back of my mind eversince I began to dive into the SDV fandom. I'm very passionate and (admittedtly) chronically online, so I just had to make an input. Oh! And I reiterate: I'm not saying that Clint's struggle with social etiquette justifies his behaviour. I'm just trying to point out that every character is flawed in some way or another and it feels unfair to target Clint. Thank you for reading!
