a volcano magically appears out of nowhere and erupts right where you are in your story, completely bringing the plot to a standstill. How do your characters react? Do they run? Help people evacuate? Save their prized possessions? Study the volcano? Surf on waves of lava??? Are they afraid? Just confused? And how did the volcano get there? What elements in your world could allow a volcano to randomly appear, and why? And besides escaping the danger, what would be the long term effects of this disaster?

Ask yourself questions like these!! They can help with world building and character development, but most importantly they'll get you back into writing stuff!!!!

This is Snopes-confirmed. Also be aware this is very common in sugar free food of many kinds. The retriever puppy who I know of who died of xylitol poisoning got hold of a pack of sugar-free gum.

Always good to remind folks - if it has xylitol, KEEP IT AWAY FROM DOGS! It induces profound hypoglycemia and liver failure and is life-threatening :(

This reminds me of my childhood. (And honestly current life.) We have a window well by our back door that always had baby frogs/toads that get stuck there and I always look to see if we have any stuck in there and I take them to the lawn to roam free again. I always look forward to rescuing the baby frogs during spring and summer.

Realizing self worth...

I never had self confidence as teen, but as I’ve gone into my 20’s I have found it a little at a time. And it’s amazing how much better I feel and how much I can do now that I have litterally forced myself out of my comfort zone.

Not only have I felt better and done more than I ever have in the past. I am now payed better at my job, I have been offered up dates, promotions, and want to live my life to the fullest. If there is anything I could say to people with self doubt is, “Don’t undervalue yourself.”

You are a better person than you realize. You have a good heart, you make mistakes, you are human. You deserve more than you are letting yourself have. Get out of your head and look outward. You’ll find you can do that thing just throw yourself into the starting line and keep pushing yourself. Keep looking ahead, don’t look back and keep it going! You are worth more than that voice in the back of your mind says you are. Let what it says go in one ear and out the other. Let yourself learn and grow and make those mistakes, other people are more understanding than you’ve let yourself think. Don’t let yourself stop and be comfortable all the time. Let the world happen and jump into the fray and fight the battle of life as it comes! Survive!
