THE STROKES PULL THE TRIGGER WITH AN ALL-NEW SINGLE!
As I’ve anxiously awaited the day that Julian Casablancas reenters my life… it appears my prayers and fantasies have been granted. Yes Strokes fans, The Strokes have released a new single on their website called, “One Way Trigger” off their alleged new album “All the Time,” and I couldn’t be happier.
The single is very reminiscent of Norwegian synth band, A-ha’s, memorable hit, “Take on Me.” The song pulls the electric synth sounds that The Strokes are known for, while being carried by the dynamic blends of Julian’s sweet falsetto and lower saultry register.
I can’t say I’d put this one on the charts as my favorite Strokes single, but hey, it sure is great to have them back on the map this year. Does this mean there’s a chance we might see the Strokes make a surprise appearance at Coachella this year as well? If so, I’d die and go straight to heaven.
