Big Idea Music Project

For my "big idea" project I wanted to focus on my love of music. Music is a huge part of everyones lives and seeing live concerts allows music to take on a whole new meaning. I want to convey this meaning using photos, videos, posters, interviews and written updates.

To say this show caught me off guard was an understatement. I hadn’t been to Firestone in months, and the fact that I got dragged there on essentially a bad date meant that I wasn’t expecting to have a good time in the slightest.

I had never heard of Cookie Monsta before this, I was just told that he was heavy face-melting dubstep.

This dj turned out to be amazing. The dub was dark and intense like I haven’t experienced live before, I usually don’t even really go to dubstep shows, but I loved it so much that I went to see Figure the very next week.

Ignition as a whole was fun too, They had great lighting for the show and they kept the whole venue foggy which I think went great with the type of show that was being put on.

I would totally see him again in a heartbeat. Come back soon dude.

Do you like to dance? Go to one of their shows. I mean it. Sunnery & Ryan will make you move whether you are messed up or totally sober, they are just that kind of DJ.

The only thing I really knew about this House duo before seeing them was that they had an incredibly long stage name. I heard they liked to party and that they put on a great show so I knew that it was probably going to be fun, but boy was I surprised when I finally got to their show. 

LIV was packed- They have to be doing something right, the night they played the entire Caroline Gleeson Modeling Agency out of Miami came out, and even James's wife, well known Victoria Secret Model, Doutzen Kroes made an appearance to show support for her hubby's work.

My girlfriends and I were so glad we went for this show, and I wish we took pictures or videos- naturally we didn't, so instead I will find some cool videos or tracks for you and post them here. 

If you're curious about them, and happen to be attending ULTRA in my beloved Miami, they're playing the 16th & the 24th and i'm sure they'll be doing numerous after parties as well.

Of all the shows i've seen recently- here and in Miami, I would have to say that Cosmic Gate had to have been one of my favorites. I happen to really love trance music & these guys know how to do it right. Claus Terhoeven and Stefan Bossems make up CG and they're both right out of germany. They've been making music for quite some years now, and I would say that they know what they're doing. 

We brought them to Orlando on their Wake Your Mind tour and I absolutely loved seeing all the trance fans come out for the show. They picked the perfect combination of songs off their Wake Your Mind album, and their others to just put you in that zone and I loved that they played Body of Conflict, because it's one of my favorites. 

All in all the show felt intimate but charged and their music made it so you had to pay attention to them. Certain moments were so good that it would literally stop your conversation so you could watch what was going on. I don't frequently find myself at trance shows, but my experience at this one would definitely make me want to attend another one.

So this is what i've been up to recently. I now do social media and marketing for The Evolve Group which does events out of Orlando. We're bringing big name djs weekly and i've been at a ton of shows. We also own The Station Bar & Grill out by UCF, so when i'm checking out EDM shows in Orlando, a lot of them will be thrown by EG.
