Let’s Talk?!
Hey everyone I we wanna know what you all thought about the final video presentation. So what did you think :D ???
While the two new characters look fun and unique, I'm extremely let down. I think Bayonetta lacks the importance of the other third party characters and so her inclusion over much more worthy characters is a bit of a slap in the face to those characters. Corrin is not "fan service" in the least, as was promised. I have said that if another FE character was to be included then it should be a dragon/transforming character, so I'm glad that it is, but with that being the ONLY first party newcomer DLC it is a big let down for it to be from a heavily represented franchise which already has a DLC character and is from a game that's not even out yet.
I have so much disappointment. So. Much.
Where'd this thing get a second foot?!
Send me a Smash Brother and I'll tell you:
Mario: My favorite video game series, and favorite game in the series.
Luigi: A character I would like to see get more attention.
Peach: A character I'd like to get a kiss from.
Bowser: A boss battle that I love
Donkey Kong: A bad guy I'd like to see become good.
Diddy Kong: Favorite sidekick character, or a character I think could use a sidekick.
Yoshi: A character that I think deserves their very own spinoff series.
Wario: A character I don't like in one of my favorite series.
Link: A game or a part of a game that really tested my courage.
Zelda: A game that had the most or one of the most perplexing puzzles.
Sheik: A plot twist I really like.
Ganondorf: An item from a game I'd do anything to have.
Toon Link: A series I think could use a new look.
Samus: A character who's outfit I'd totally wear.
Zero Suit Samus: A character who I'd like more backstory for.
Pit: An older game or series I'd like to see get revived for a sequel.
Ice Climber: A game I love to play with others.
R.O.B.: My favorite gaming accessory.
Kirby: A Character who's abilities you'd love to have.
Metaknight: A gaming mystery you'd really like to see cleared up.
King Dedede: A series you can't get enough of.
Olimar: A game that feels like it took ( or is taking ) forever to be releaed.

Falco: A game I am unusually good at.
Wolf: A gaming Cliche I'd like to see put to rest.

Snake: A cutscene I really love.
Sonic: My most wanted characters for the next Super Smash Bros. Game
Roy: A character I would replace with another character ( from the same game or a different one )
Mewtwo: A character in one of my favorite series that I wish would make another appearance
Dr. Mario: Favorite Alternate Outfit?
Pichu: Part of a game that makes me question the developer's decision making skills.
Young Link: A game that I consider my childhood.
Some smashers are missing since this is an older post, but if you want you can create a question for a missing character and ask
A Newcomer Approaches ... Vince!
Name: Vince Original Series: Art Academy
With Nintendo's goal of appealing to a wider audience than just core gamers, they chose to release the Art Academy games to teach drawing and painting techniques. With the series now four installments in (five if you include the Pokémon crossover installment too), it has become a respectable part of Nintendo's library of franchises.
Vince, named after the famous Van Gogh, is the player's art tutor in these games. An avid painter himself, he is well versed in many artistic abilities and would be well suited to brining these unique abilities to the Smash Brothers battlefield.
Vince's attacks:
His standard attacks would focus on his paintbrush, but he could bring in other tools like pencils, crayons, and pastels too. His paintbrush can have different effects depending on the color of the paint on it, which is change by his standard B move.
Standard B - Color Wheel ... Press B to make a color wheel pop up around Vince. Quickly push the joy stick in a direction to choose red, yellow, or blue. This coats Vince's paintbrush with the selected color. Do it again in order to mix colors together and make orange, green, or purple. Doing it a third time to mix red, yellow, and blue just makes brown. If more color is not added, the paint on the brush will get used up after a short time. The effects on the paintbrush are as follows:
Red: Fire effect. Causes light fire damage on contact. Smash attacks may create lingering burn effect that can rack up damage on the target Yellow: Lightning effect. Causes light electrical damage. Smash attacks may create a static field around the target that can zap other nearby opponents for a short while. Blue: Ice effect. Causes light ice damage. Smash attacks may freeze the target. Orange: Explosive effect. Causes moderate explosive damage. Smash attacks may cause a large area explosion that can launch opponents. Green: Acid effect. Causes moderate acid damage. Smash attacks may cause large area splash effect that can rack up damage on all affected opponents. Purple: Poison effect. Causes moderate poison damage. Smash attacks may create large cloud of poison gas that can rack up damage on anyone that passes through it. Brown: Causes high normal damage. Smash attacks have a much better chance of launching targets even at a very low damage.
Side B - Eraser ... Vince erases in front of him. This move can erase a pesky item or object you don't want in play. It can also be used to negate incoming projectiles if timed properly. Or just use it on opponents to damage them (and erase any item they may be holding or wearing!).
Up B - Frame & Hang ... Vince holds up a picture frame around him. With a flash, he turns into a painting. The framed portrait spins (causing damage to anyone it hits) and moves straight up before stopping and hanging the painting in mid-air. With another flash, the portrait comes to life and Vince jumps out of the frame. The frame falls down after that, damaging anyone it hits on the way.
Down B - Counterfeit ... Vince quickly sets up an easel and swiftly paints a picture of the nearest item (even if it's being held by another player or a player-created item like a bomb or turnip or something). The painting then comes to life, and Vince is in possession of the item he drew. This works like the item normally would, but when it is thrown or discarded it explodes! Use it as the item, or use it as a bomb. If items are turned off, then Vince will just paint fruit that are useless as items, but still explode when dropped or thrown.
Final Smash - Prophetic Portrait ... Vince swipes wide with his brush and anyone caught in the attack is caught in this cinematic move. They stand together against a white background. Vince can be seen peering over his canvas as he diligently works on his masterpiece. After just a moment, he's finished, and he turns the portrait for them all to see. There they are, looking very lifelike. But what's that explosion behind them? BOOM! Cutting back to the stage, they all go flying.

Super Smash Bros. Central’s TOP 10 DLC Fighter Wishlist!
So Super Smash Bros. Central’s post got me thinking about who my actual Top Ten are for smash. And making a list of my most wanted was easy … but listing them from most to least wanted was near impossible.
First off: I didn’t include veterans I want back because they brought my list to the impossible-to-slim-down number of thirteen. That means, although I really really want them back, I did not include ICE CLIMBERS or POKéMON TRAINER in my top 10. But seriously, both of them need to come back. Come back to me, my loves.
*Honorable Mention*: MEDUSA … I love her redesign for Uprising and feel like Nintendo is lacking female villains. She’s been around since early Nintendo days and would have made a far better addition than Dark Pit. She was even way above Palutena on my wishlist. The only reason she was the one dropped to Honorable Mention is because I haven’t actually played a Kid Icarus game myself and didn’t think it fair to include her above others I have experienced firsthand.
#10: JOHN RAIMI … I loved the novelty of Geist and Nintendo’s foray into M-rated games. Raimi has so much potential to be completely unique. Even if few others would appreciate him at first, I would be so excited to try him out.
#9: WADDLE DEE … Kirby and the Crystal Shards was my favorite Kirby game and I loved Waddle Dee being a partner in that game. With Waddle Dee taking on an increasingly playable role as ‘Bandana Dee’ and his removal from King Dedede’s moveset he is poised for entry into the roster as a playable character.
#8: IMPA … Other than Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf, Impa is the other character to have been reincarnated throughout the entire Zelda series. While absent from some games, she is in many others and her role has been pushed into the limelight recently in Ocarina, then Skyward Sword, and Hyrule Warriors. She should have taken over for Sheik in this game as Sheik is no longer relevant to the Zelda universe, especially when separated from Zelda as she is in SSB4. Impa would still be a great inclusion though and is certainly able to bring uniqueness to the roster.
#7: KING K. ROOL … With Donkey Kong woefully underrepresented and my love for playable villains, King K. Rool should definitely make a comeback in Smash. He is one of the frontrunners in many polls and fans want to see him square off with the DK Crew again for the first time since DK 64.
#6: RIDLEY … Screw Ridley being “too big”. He is the clear choice to properly expand Metroid’s representation in Smash. If he can’t be made to be perfectly balanced with everyone else, then those that don’t want to unbalance their game can choose not to buy him. Smash is supposed to be about representing Nintendo’s history with unique characters from all of its games, and to exclude one because the competitive scene (who only play with one or two characters anyway) says it would make the game unbalanced is bull.
#5: SPYRO … I grew up playing Nintendo games and Spyro games. Though he started exclusively on Playstation, Spyro has spread across Nintendo systems since the Gamecube. He is a huge reminder of my childhood and I would love to have him join one of my childhood games to battle other characters from my childhood.
#4: CHIBI ROBO … I have such a soft spot for this little guy. His first game was actually quite fun and very quirky and I’m excited for him to assume the action role in his upcoming game (and that adorable Amiibo … I need it). He has a plethora of abilities to choose from for a moveset and would be a fun character addition who would probably play in a style I would really enjoy.
#3: BANJO-KAZOOIE … The bear and bird starred in my favorite N64 games as a kid and they were so perfectly suited to Nintendo that them being taken over by Microsoft is, to me, clearly one of the biggest travesties of gaming history ever. What could have happened if Nintendo kept working with Rare? So much good stuff. Banjo-Kazooie should have been with Nintendo ever since their first appearance, and should have therefore been in Smash a long time ago. It’s time they got that chance.
#2: TOAD … The other three playable characters from SMB2 have all been in Smash for the past three or four iterations. Meanwhile, Toad is no where to be seen. He has been around since the beginning, playable as early as the second game ever in the series, and had taken on all sorts of roles giving him a wide berth of powers and skills he could use in Smash. He is so much more than just a generic Toad … he is TOAD. The red-spotted, blue-and-golf vested TOAD. And he should be in Smash.
#1: ANDROSS … I must be the only person to have Andross as my #1. And it wasn’t that way until I thought about him one day being full-body. Andross before he became a giant floating face. He was supposed to appear as a bonus character in Starfox 2, piloting an Arwing. So at one point, they did consider a normal appearance for him, even if it was to be as a bonus. Before he experimented on himself to the point of no return, he must have been similar looking to his nephew Andrew, though maybe a bit scarier. Pair that with his telekinetic abilities and his giant floating android hands and you have a unique StarFox representative, an awesome bad guy, and a key character from Nintendo’s gaming history that deserves a chance to go up against his arch nemesis, Fox McCloud, and have an actual chance to emerge victorious!!!
So that’s my top 10. I am completely unsure of most of their actual ranks within the top 10, but they are definitely my top picks. I would love to see any of them appear in Smash (though it would certainly be better if there was a story mode for them to really shine in …)

Updated to include Mallo, King Hippo, and Dixie Kong!
A Newcomer Approaches ... Dixie Kong!
Name: Dixie Kong Original Series: Donkey Kong Country While I certainly think King K. Rool is a more appealing addition to the Smash roster, Dixie Kong is clearly the runner up in popularity and the only other reasonable addition to the roster from the Donkey Kong franchise. She was also considered as part of a tag-team character with Diddy Kong for Brawl, before being ultimately dropped during production.
Now the big worry (especially considering that possible partnership) is making her a Diddy Kong clone. Though the Donkey Kong games don't really include a huge variety of different powers, items, or abilities between characters, there is still plenty to pull from to make her completely unique and it would be a VERY big disappointment if she was just Diddy Kong with hair instead of a tail.
Dixie Kong's attacks:
Standard B - Bubblegum Popgun ... While at first glance, this may appear to be the same as Diddy Kong's attack, it only has a similar base. It is still chargeable for more distance, but instead of leaving behind edible peanuts the bubblegum sticks to the ground and makes those who walk over it get stuck in place for a few moments.
Side B - Feather Crossbow ... Borrowing her sister's weapon of choice from DK64, Dixie pulls out the crossbow and rapid-fires feathers from it. They travel straight forward a decent distance but do little damage and have no knockback but it is an extremely easy-to-spam attack.
Up B - Barrel Cannon ... Dixie hops into a barrel cannon, which slowly tilts from straight up to straight forward the way she was facing when she activated the move. Pressing any button will fire her out of it. Be quick though or your aim will suffer. The barrel will linger for a while even after Dixie uses it (so other players can even use it if they dare), but the longer it is out after being summoned, the faster it moves and the wider the arc. After being activated for a few seconds it will be impossible to aim and a moment after that point, the barrel disappears and leaves whoever was inside it to fall prone. While in the barrel, attacks can damage you but not send you flying. Firing yourself into an opponent will cause decent damage and knockback to the other player.
Down B - Bubblegum Barrier ... Dixie blows up a bubble for as long as you hold the button down. If you do it too long, it pops on her! Otherwise, she stops blowing when you let the button go and she can move around freely with a big pink bubble on her lips. If this contacts another player then it pops on them. The bubble can be popped by projectile attacks too. If popped by overinflation, the gum sticks to Dixie and slows her down. If popped on an opponent, it causes damage and moderate knockback, and the sticky gum slows them down. If popped by a projectile or by being inflated for too long without being popped by other means, then it just creates a sticky patch on the ground as the bubblegum popgun does.
Final Smash - Cannon Shot ... Dixie slams a barrel down in front of her to trap opponents for the final smash. She also rolls it forward a short distance after, to catch those a little further out of range. It zooms in on Dixie as she jumps on top of the barrel, now mounted to the ground like a cannon. BOOM! It fires any trapped opponents out of it (and hopefully off the side of the stage). They may also knock into anyone in the way and knock them flying too!

Happening at this very moment...
A Newcomer Approaches ... King Hippo!
Name: King Hippo Original Series: Punch Out King Hippo is Little Mac's biggest competition (get it? BIGGEST?) and the holder of the championship belt every time Little Mac goes to claim it for himself. He has been appearing in games since back on the NES, and was also one of the main villains on Nintendo's "Captain N" cartoon way back when.
He would be a good counterpart to Little Mac, in the sense that Mac is all about dodging attacks and hitting back quickly but Hippo would instead be a glutton for absorbing damage from attacks and then striking back even harder. He would be easy to damage (being a big slow target), but very hard to send flying.
King Hippo's attacks:
Standard B - Hippo Hug ... King Hippo performs his signature move, punching with a right and left hook at the same time, sandwiching his opponent between his fists. This is a very damaging attack, though a bit slow. It can leave the target stunned momentarily though for a follow-up strike, since this move deals no knockback in and of itself.
Side B - Duck 'n' Raise Punch ... A counter-type move. King Hippo crouches and blocks with his arms, absorbing the normal damage of an incoming attack but avoiding its knockback, and then returning it two-fold with a powerful upward strike that sends opponents flying up diagonally.
Up B - Tasty Aroma ... A delicious pineapple-glazed ham appears before King Hippo. The player can direct which way the ham goes (straight forward, shallow diagonal, steep diagonal), leaving an aromatic trail wafting behind it. Hippo floats on the air, carried forward by his nose toward his tasty meal. At the end he chomps down on it, regaining a little health.
Down B - Pig Out ... King Hippo plants himself securely on the ground and starts engorging himself on food. While in this position, he cannot be launched. He takes all normal damage from attacks though. If planned right, the amount of food eaten will heal more damage than Hippo takes while sitting prone, but poorly timed it will just make Hippo an easy target for damaging attacks so as soon as he stands up again he can be easily launched. It's a high risk (being a very easy target and racking up damage) / high reward (avoiding possible KOs and maybe healing a little damage) move. It has a long cool-down time too, so it should only be used under the right circumstances or you'll have wasted it and left you without it for when you truly need it. It can be ended prematurely by pressing Down + B again.
Final Smash - Megaton Punch ... King Hippo catches an opponent in a Hippo Hug. They are transported to his little Pacific island home and he rears back for a huge punch. As his fist flies forward it zooms out to show the tropical little island and a huge explosion blasts the screen followed by a mushroom cloud rising from where the island had just been. As it cuts back to the stage, anyone caught in the attack goes flying. It is pretty much certain doom.
Want King Hippo as a DLC character in Smash Brothers? Vote for him: https://cp.nintendo.co.jp/us/
A Newcomer Approaches .... Mallo!
Name: Mallo Original Series: Pushmo
Mallo is now the playable protagonist of four Nintendo games. The puzzle games feature this chubby sumo cat (?) creature pulling, pushing, dropping, and stretching different shaped blocks in order to reach a goal allowing him to move on to the next puzzle. All four games have released to good critical reception and continue to add a new twist to the gameplay and puzzle solving.
As a representative of Nintendo's newer game franchises and attempts to grow into different game styles, Mallo would be a goofy but fitting addition to the Smash roster.
Mallo's attacks:
Standard B - Summon Block ... Mallo summons a block which falls straight down in front of him. If it lands on someone, it can really damage them and send them flying. It can be used as an edge-guarding technique. Two blocks can be in play at a time. If a third one is summoned, the oldest block vanishes.
Side B - Push Block ... Mallo shoves the block he's standing next to and it zooms along the stage, causing significant damage and knockback to anyone it hits. This block is essentially a moving wall, stopping projectiles and opponents completely.
Up B - Manhole Quicktravel ... Mallo pauses for a moment, allowing the player to control a ghost image of a small block and guide it to the best position they can before time runs out. After the moment passes, the ghost image turns into a real block and another appears directly under Mallo, with a manhole on top of each. Mallow falls into the manhole underneath him and pops out of the other one. Another moment later, both blocks fall straight down. They disappear when they go off the stage or a moment after landing on a platform.
Down B - Block Grab ... Mallo grabs onto the block he's standing next to. If B is held down, he stretches the block as he moves, resizing it up to its maximum or minimum size. The smaller it is the fast it can move, but the bigger it is the more damaging it is and the better it blocks opponents and projectiles. It also affects Mallo's ability to use his side B on it. If down B is just tapped, then Mallo just grabs the block and pushes/pulls it, using it as a moveable shield, or positioning it as he sees fit. Bigger blocks are slower to push, smaller ones are faster.
Final Smash - Crashmo ... Blocks start raining down from above, crashing into the stage and sending anyone caught under them flying. Mallo also becomes stronger and faster, and is able to move these raining blocks around as he sees fit, much more easily than normal. Use them to block opponent's recovery or to trap them so they can't run away from other falling blocks.
Want Mallo as a DLC character in SSB4? Vote for him: https://cp.nintendo.co.jp/us/

A Newcomer Approaches .... Balloon Fighter!
Name: Balloon Fighter Original Series: Balloon Fight Balloon Fighter was actually considered as a retro character to represent classic NES games for Melee, but was passed over for Ice Climbers (insert sadness at the mention of my beloved duo here). With Ice Climbers given the boot thanks to technical limitations of the 3DS holding back the Wii U version, Balloon Fighter should get his chance to shine! Both because he would be a unique addition to the roster, and because his inclusion would honor the late Mr. Iwata, as Balloon Fight was one of the earliest projects he took part in. Balloon Fighter would be a lighter, smaller character and he would rely very heavily on his balloons, as he should due to his game mechanics. Balloon Fighter's attacks:
Standard B - Big Helium Balloon ... Balloon Fighter pulls out an inflated balloon. If timed correctly, it can be used as a damage-less counter, popping as an opponent's attack hits it and blowing them backward without damage. Otherwise, Balloon Fighter attaches this balloon to an opponent or item within reach. This makes the item or opponent float upward out of control until the balloon is popped by an attack, or by the trapped opponent wriggling free. If nothing is within reach to attach it to, the balloon just floats up. The speed at which it floats upward depends on the weight attached to it. Heavy characters or large items like crates or barrels will make it float slower. But, up to three balloons can be attached to one item/character at a time. Anyone who pops a balloon with a melee attack will get pushed back by it, though not as much as they would be by the counter version of the move. Hold down B to have Balloon Fighter keep hold of the balloon himself and rise up as a recovery move, but if it gets popped while he's holding it he will fall prone.
Side B - Ball Lightning ... A small round ball of lightning shoots out from Balloon Fighter straight forward. This can bounce of walls/ground up to three times, being absorbed by the fourth wall it hits. If it comes into contact with an opponent or item before that, it causes them decent damage and paralyzes them momentarily.
Up B - Inflate Balloon ... Balloon Fighter uses balloons like Olimar uses Pikmin. He needs them to perform at this best and can re-inflate them if they pop. While Balloon Fighter is completely capable of fighting with both of his balloons popped, he will only be able to jump once without a balloon to help him. With one balloon he gets up to five additional jumps like Kirby or Jigglypuff. If he has two balloons, his jumps give him more height and air time. If his balloons are both popped in the air, he cannot re-inflate them until he lands. Like the Standard B attack, these balloons will push back melee attacks, which will prevent someone from spamming attacks and popping both balloons at the same time so Balloon Fighter stands a better chance of making it back to safety.
Down B - Flipper ... Balloon Fighter tosses out a flipper. This works like the forgotten item, knocking away and damaging those who touch it. It eventually disappears, or the oldest one in play vanishes if Balloon fighter tries to use more than two at the same time.
Final Smash - Bomb Balloons ... Balloons rise from the bottom of the stage, floating all over the screen. The first one, which floats up right under Balloon Fighter, is a “P” balloon from Balloon Kid which gives him invulnerability while the final smash is in effect. Attached to the rest of the balloons are bob-ombs. If they don't walk into them themselves, Balloon Fighter can knock opponents into these bombs and launch them before the balloons all float off the screen.

He’s back, and he SAW all those jokes you people were making… ;3
I feel like this whole Ryu thing is just going to turn out to be a street fighter stage with Ryu as a stage hazard. On top of Sakurai specifically saying he didn't want to use fighting game characters, I just don't see a second character from a third party making an appearance playably .... And if it did happen I would figure it would be from Sega. But additional third party stages I can definitely see happening.
