What the Prophet ﷺ meant with "the longest arm" is related to alms-giving. Among his wives, Zainab was the first to die after him ﷺ. She was fond of giving sadaqa (alms/charity). She was known as Umm al-masakin (mother of the needy) in the pre Islamic time.
