these get reposted a whole lot from here to reddit to twitter to tiktok and on and on, and i don't personally care whether or not i'm credited. i made these for everyone to use, enjoy, and find meaning in them. i appreciate folks who do credit me, but if able, please at least link to the threadless shop in the previous post - folks can get an official shirt where 90% of earnings go to trans led orgs focused on mental health (which is an important matter in general, but very personal to me) and not from a scam bot site selling AI-churned maga garbage where you probably won't get one anyway. i also suggest downloading the files from my ko-fi - they are free/PWYW and you can use them to make your own shirt, patch, embroidery project, whatever. tips are always nice, cuz i do like a pizza now and then, but never required for download.

final thought - breaking the pride tradition and more than likely won't make a new piece. the top one from TDOV is all i'm making this year. i have my focus on other projects currently and i don't want to force a poster design. these came from a specific head space and my current head space is Very Tired lmao so i wanna work on other things. 👍

and throughout those years, 00s-10s, many black bloggers -- victims of the mass staff-led purge (under the cover of them being 'russian' while reichblr still exists) -- they DID tell us it was a problem, DID try to educate people who freak out at the insinuation of 'being racist,' DID argue, DID point out the duplicity and the appropriation and the gross equivalence of african american slang with unintelligence, goofiness, etc. and they were ignored, abused, cancelled, chased off, until being eventually mass deleted by our racist transmisogynistic staff.

we didn't do enough, and the generation after us gen z "kids" didn't stop the trend. using the '-ahh' suffix. rizz. no cap. ate. delulu. it's giving. it's serving. crash out. lock in. aura. tea. main character. bruh. slay. real. keep it 100.

THINGS I HATE ABOUT LOST

- People are portrayed having psychosis and It's like "what if you're not crazy... what if... its prophecy...." AND IT'S TRUE

- All the cool women characters with potential die to make men characters sad (shannon, libby, alex, nadia, juliet).

- There is only 1 queer character who was a gay villain henchman with barely any screentime, who never explicitly says he's gay he just tells a woman she's "not his type" and then has a twink kiss him on the cheek. He dies uneventfully.

- "Hurley is FAT and likes EATING FOOD and thats GROSS and UNHEALTHY!"

- Every Arab country is portrayed as poor and war torn and desert yellow filter. Also they speak arabic poorly.

- Nigeria is portrayed the same way.

- They treat being disabled as being the worst thing ever.

- WHY IS EVERY WOMAN OBSESSED WITH HAVING BABIES.

- Deadbeat dad propaganda.

- Shitty boyfriend propaganda.

- Christian propaganda.

There is a type of very normalized popular humor that is quite literally just Black people existing “juxtaposed” with something that’s meant to be contradictory to…a Black person existing. Many will pretend that’s not the joke, but it is. The contrast between the Black man and shouting out a “favorite gender” being seen as conflicting is the joke. And it’s not funny. This is in the same vein as the running gag where some white people will go to a rap/hip hop show and do something like play chess in the crowd. The joke is “haha look at the juxtaposition between this Very Black thing and this Very White thing! Isn’t that hilarious? We’re so different this doesn’t even make sense xD” and these jokes suck, especially in the context of this meme in particular where the “very White thing” is….appreciating other genders. and the fact that when Black people try to talk about anything like this we are usually met with “it’s not that deep” is also a part of the problem. Anyways!!!!!
