Bro i was at a local fair looking at a fandom related booth in the commercial building and a little boy and his mom came to the booth. And this little boy who is at most 10 years old goes "mommy i found zooble" i thought i misheard because there were a lot of different fandoms like star wars and stuff but his mom didnt acknowledge him and he goes "mommy theres digital circus". Why does your little kid know what that is? the names of the characters and everything. Like at this point you just ignore your child, hes clearly happy to talk about what hes watching hes not hiding it. It doesnt even take having a iron fist over youtube either all you have to do is listen to your kid and their interests.

I recently got my 70th build a bear, its funny because i started collecting because of a dream. It was in the begenning of 2023 and i had a dream i was looking for my childhood bear gracie bear. So when i woke up i decided to get her out of storage and i washed her and fixed her voice box. (It still worked but the audio was staticy, new batteries made her good as new). I did get a few build a bears before that but i wasnt going to thrift stores looking for them secondhand. I even found the same kind of bear my sister had when she was younger while at a thrift store with her. (The original bear was lost but i think fathie bear came back in her own way). Honestly i dont think i would've tried to learn sewing if i didnt start collecting. At first it was so i could wash the bears easier and closw them themselves but then i started to want to make clothes for them. Now i even made a raggedy ann dress for myself!

Anyway if you want to start collecting thrift stores are your best friend. Facebook marketplace has also been great and pretty affordable if you can drive/have someone to drive you. Rummage sales can also have some, i havent found a build a bear at one but ive gotten a build a bear dresser at one, the second one i went to also had the pink one. Majority of my collection is secondhand ive gotten 12 new and a lot of them were gifts too.

This is my complete collection minus the new one so just imagine theres one more hidden in the army of build a bears lol

I love getting visibly used/loved objects from thrift stores. Its cool finding things in amazing condition but theres just something special about the objects that show their age. I even try to preserve some of the markings, like i recently drew on a build a bear because the marker that was previously on there faded a bit when i washed it. Ill choose the raggedy ann whos hair bow was cut and attach new yarn to the pieces. Ill get the robot dinosaur with a broken neck and try to fix it dispite having no experience in fixing electronics. They were loved by someone and i want them to keep getting love while i have them.

Watching a video essay on the vhs fnaf tapes and it gave me a idea.

A raggedy ann analog horror style thing based on raggedy ann loosing her candy heart and does scary things because of it. Probably not the most original premise lol.

OR something in the realm of the mlp infection aus but its based on the dolls themselves. Like something happens to the dolls that slowly warps them and it has different effects depending on the era of the dolls. Like the older the era of the doll the more gruesome. I could do this idea myself using my own dolls tbh, if i do im tempted to make my giant raggedy ann (aka the annabelle doll) somehow immune or gentle just because people always see her as the scary ghost doll and im not doing my girl dirty like that.

I thought i appreciated how well miss ann was made when i made her a andy but man raggedy ann clothes are so tedious to make. The hems on her are like perfect whoever made her was so skilled and had a lot of care put into her. And especially the embroidery its so well done and is annoying to do especially when its a big doll and not the small ones.
