re: "wow it sure would've been a very weak conclusion for Tori's character to die"
I'm pretty sure we talked about before how Tori living drives home that no, programs aren't inherently evil and cruel just because of the purposes they were created for like Tori believes. She says she can never be or do better because the scientists "broke" her, but this is just an extension of that belief applied to herself. Tori viewing herself as innately flawed and irredeemable is part of the problem, even if she starts acknowledging the ways she's harmed FP about it.
On top of that, she has always relied on reboots to "get out" of situations and avoid dealing with difficult emotions. Death can't just be another out for her. It isn't effective, neither as a form of redemption nor retribution. Tori cannot just leave and move on and continue to ignore festering problems.
And if Tori can't die and fall into eternal inaction, then she has to make decisions and continue to live with herself no matter what. She was so afraid of loosing FP, but has now lost them regardless of them being alive. She was so afraid of causing harm, but has hurt everyone regardless. She has done things that she could never make up for or fix. But in the end, she still has herself, and she has to decide how she will continue to exist in a place where she has caused harm to many, where she can't escape the outfall of her actions, but where she also possesses the power to improve things.
a program you knew, a program like you
This is my understanding of FP and Clover's relationship.

TCW day 6 - caught
I think this one’s my favorite yet.. I haven’t done a lineless style in a while and I think it upped the cuteness factor on this one
I was inspired by the cutest screencap of them
When reading on cultural relations certain nations may have with their "parent" nation, I feel that there's a low-key interesting and unexplored aspect to Alfred/Kiku in that both were deemed as derivative, inferior, cultural backwaters by their "older brothers." Obviously there are/were different historical dynamics/feelings at play, but it's an interesting sorta-parallel to consider.
Honestly, there's a lot of interesting comparisons/contrasts between all the different Hetalia "families."
ideal partner
oughhh finally finished obsolete friends. health issues make me slowwww sometimes but! i did it! and i really liked it!
i'm not quite sure how to articulate myself, but it feels like an interesting follow-up to/extension of the friendship test series' themes + writing, as well as. uh i dunno if there's a word for this. but the way those things are explored?
the specific execution of it; how the story is told and through what elements. the choices that are made and how this creates a particular "voice" or "style". you can tell it is a story made by the same person but also you can tell that it is a story made by a person. if that makes any sense.
idk! i don't think i'm articulating myself very well. i have so many thoughts and yet i'm not sure how to make them take form. ah well. cool game!!!
there were a lot of little details i really enjoyed so i'll list a few of them now (non-comprehensive):
the ui sound effects were nice
i liked how when luna was trying to save CD at the end we saw some of her thoughts via letters, it felt like a good follow-through of that character detail!
i like how lucia and zoey's singular spooky eye shows up on opposite sides of their faces (i think? hopefully i'm remembering that detail right)!
i really like the scene with luna and dottie at the talent show, and the scenes between them leading up to that :-)
monster was probably my favourite other than zoey. the characters in general were a highlight... i like how the neighbours all sort of reflect zoey in their own ways. works well thematically i think
i like how zoey's arms look like scarves
anyway! that's it for now but like i said, non-comprehensive! i hope i can be brave enough to share some more of my thoughts on this and some of mar's other games in the future, even if i don't explain my thoughts the best. yippee narrative focused indie games are so interesting to me!!!
