How exactly do the fangs and vexes work? I’m specifically curious about the vexes, cause like Eve could summon vexes to help in battle or as guards/spies, but she doesn’t. In that same vein:
-are vexes sentient and have their own personalities, or are they just extensions of the evokers (or a mix of both?)?
-can an evoker see through their vexes(probably not, since Eve could have left a vex with the raiding party while she was gone to keep an eye on things just in case)
-if a vex is hurt, would Eve feel that pain as well?
-Can fangs and vexes be summoned unintentionally, like Eve just sneezes and BOOM Pierre’s dead(now imagine the nether arc but Eve has a cold)
Also here’s an Eve for relevance because MOM SAID ITS MY TURN TO GUT PUNCH PEOPLE!!!
VEX/FANG LORE!
Vexes and Fangs are magical manifestations. They can only be summoned for a temporary amount of time. The more powerful and well-trained the evoker is, the longer-lasting and more versatile are their manifestations.
Vexes can be summoned in groups of threes, and have a strict timer. (In-game they only exist for 30 seconds, in the AU it's a bit longer and depends on how far away they get from their master, and also depends on the Evoker's skill)
Mix of both. Vexes start of as a bit of a blank slate, but then become projections of their Evoker, or sometimes particular traits of them. Some Evoker believe that if your vexes are too different from you, that means you're unfocused.
A little bit! Vexes can be used to spy on others. Mansions are under near-constant surveillance. But they're not exactly like cameras, Evokers get a warped glimpse and can hear faint noises through their vexes. (If Eve left a Vex with the party, it has long despawned by now)
If a Vex gets hurt or killed- then Evokers, skilled ones, only feel that it happened. Young/inexperienced Evokers feel a slight pain in their head and a weird sensation in their body, but they learn to deal with it.
Can fangs and vexes be summoned unintentionally - Sometimes!! It'd be very small manifestations. Really depends on the Evoker's self control. I can totally imagine an Evoker sneezing or physically raging really hard and summoning small fangs around them. If they're really frightened, they might accidentally summon a bunch in self defence. Vexes take focus to summon, but maybe if an Evoker is having a mental breakdown, somehow it can summon very poorly-made vexes to project their emotions- like they can't handle their feelings on their own. If they are sick though, they might be too weak to properly summon things...
Fangs are summoned from the earth/ground/physical matter. They are attributed to the host Action, who is associated with the earth, and fangs are tools of fast striking action.
Vexes are summoned more spiritually, and are attributed to knowledge. You have to be studious and have a well trained mind to summon them. They were made as an attempt to summon Allays artificially.
This is why Eve is so fond and rather proud of her vexes, she has a hard time focusing and clearing her mind sometimes.
Also LOVE THE DRAWING!! Poor little scared Eve... sometimes all you can hug is a manifestation of your mind...
