@my-new-self
My blog is a private thing that is open to everyone in the world except to the people I know in real life.
HELMER: First and foremost, you are a wife and mother. NORA: That I don’t believe any more. I believe that first and foremost I am an individual, just as you are.
Henrik Ibsen, A Doll’s House (via ohproserpine)
the way my self esteem is set up
i don’t accept anything less than respect
I don’t even want to lose weight. I just want to fit into my boyfriend jeans, to be able to just wear sports bras and nike pros at the gym, and to pass by reflections of myself and not feel bad for seeing my thighs. I don’t care about the number.
“Wrong Century” by Tomas Kucerovsky
the look of wistfulness on her face just punches me straight in the heart
this is literally my favorite piece that ever comes up on tumblr and if you want me to change my mind well then goOD LUCK WITH THAT
This is my fucking favourite
i think this all the time

When “i” is replaced with “we” even illness becomes wellness.
Malcolm X (via amorestavivo)
This changed me.

I’m not struggling with my weight, I’m struggling with my mind. If I loved myself more my weight wouldn’t be a problem.

Stop using your body as a plot against your mother who never quite notices. Against the boy who never seemed to care. Against your friend who seems to drop weight so much easier. Your body is not a threat, Your body is not a pawn. Stop abusing it.
Michelle K., Letters to a Fifteen Year Old Me. (via michellekpoems)
This is my fucking favourite
i think this all the time

You don't have to justify your body.
If you’re thin, you don’t have to say ‘but I eat all the time!’/’I have a fast metabolism!’
If you’re fat, you don’t have to say ‘it’s genetic!’/’I’m trying to lose weight!’
You don’t need to explain to anybody why your body is the way it is. Your body is YOUR body, and that’s all the justification you need.
