My Published Works
So I thought it would make sense to post a list of my works on Ao3 for easy clicking and reading. I'll try to update as I go along because there will be more. So many WIPs, so little time. Sorted Newest to Oldest.
Cirque Fantastique (M, WIP) Yuri on Ice
There's a mysterious circus that travels around the region called Cirque Fantastique, or the Circus of Fantasies. It appears like magic in towns, stays a few days, then disappears just as suddenly as if it was never there. Strange, but traveling circuses are transitory like that so nobody gives it much thought. However, this particular circus is hiding a secret. In order to survive, Viktor Nikiforov, the Ringmaster, made a pact with a magical being to ensure that he and his friends wouldn't starve as they built their biggest dream into reality, a circus intended to enchant and inspire all who came to bear witness. The pact was successful, but unfortunately, such deals come with a catch. While the circus thrives as agreed, its residents are cursed to live a trapped existence, half in shadow and half in light.
But a bringer of change is coming, wrapped up in the most unassuming of people. A young man, drifting and unable to find his place in the world, finds himself thrust into the middle of events he doesn't understand. There is only one thing he knows with absolute certainty. For the enigmatic Viktor, Yuuri Katsuki discovers that there's nothing he wouldn't do. Even if it means storming the gates of Hell itself.
Bullets and Butterfly Wings (M, 65,980 words) Yuri on Ice
Viktor Nikiforov, head of the Saint Petersburg Bratva, had clawed his way to the top of the world using his wits, luck, and a found family that had, against all odds, kept him alive. He was a living legend, feared and respected by the rich and powerful in the glittering world of the elite. But something was missing despite all he'd achieved. Something he couldn't quite put his finger on. Until a mysterious dancer waltzed into his life and made away with his heart. Will this newfound life and love be enough to weather the storm to come? Will Yuuri stay once he learns who Viktor really is, not only the handsome bank CEO but something much darker, much more dangerous? And most importantly, will Viktor be able to keep him safe from the shadows that threaten to swallow them both whole? A threat presses on the horizon, and even he might not be powerful enough to survive it.
Here's to Us (T, 5377 words) Naruto
It's Christmas Eve and an epic snowstorm is raging outside Iruka's little bar on the outskirts of Konoha. Little did he know that this particular storm would blow up not just snow, but a blast from his past. A person he'd tried so hard to forget although he knew he never could. But maybe there was a little Christmas magic in the air after all. Maybe this time these two lost souls could find themselves and each other once again over a friendly toast. Maybe this snowstorm was telling them that, at last, it was time for second chances.
Perfect Harmony (M, 32,980 words) Naruto
Kakashi Hatake, the once great pianist and composer now turned reclusive shut-in, finds his life unexpectedly turned upside down with the arrival of a new next-door neighbor. The Ice King (G, 6850 words) Yuri on Ice
Once Upon A Time, there was a young boy who loved to dance and moved so beautifully that he caught the attention of a being made of pure ice and snow. When misfortune befalls the boy, the Ice King vows to help him regain the ability to see the world for what it is and not discount his worth. But along the way, what was impassive assistance became something more. What happens when a being made of ice, the very king of that ice, finds himself growing warm?
Stars, I Have Seen Them Fall (T, 16K words) Yuri on Ice
Yuuri is determined to prove his love (or what he is convinced is his love) and tears off into a magical land in search of a star that has fallen from the sky. On his journey, he learns several important truths, chief among them being that love, the kind that is real, honest, and true, can crop up in the most unexpected places. Meanwhile, a witch queen is also after the star to capture its power and continue her reign of terror over the land of Saga. Who will get there first? Will life and love prevail?
The Boy and the Dancing Prince (G, 7K words) Yuri on Ice
Once upon a time, there was a prince whose dance caused the seasons to turn and the land to flourish. But he was trapped behind an enchanted dome of thick glass, kept away from others, protected, isolated. Lonely. Then, one day, a boy decided to visit the hill that the prince called home, wanting to watch the prince work his magic. Neither of their lives would ever be the same. True love, after all, is stronger than any magic.
Love Story (M, 34K words) Yuri on Ice
Viktor Nikiforov and Yuuri Katsuki, sons of rival families engaged in a generations-long bitter feud, met entirely by chance. From the moment their eyes took in the other, they knew that this person, despite the seemingly insurmountable odds against them, was the one they wanted to stay close to more than anyone else. But in the face of such bad blood between their families, will it be enough for their love to grow and endure?
True Love (T, 6K words) Naruto
When Kakashi is hit with a strange jutsu on a mission, Iruka doesn't know what to do. How is he supposed to handle the outpouring of love from the usually tight-lipped Kakashi? No matter how much he desperately wants the words to be true, they can't possibly be. Can they?
Enchanted (T, 5K words) Yuri on Ice
When the greyness that has become his life reaches the breaking point, Viktor makes a decision. However, carefully laid plans could never stand a chance when a very drunk Asian man crashes into his life at the Sochi Grand Prix final banquet. All he can say is that he's enchanted to meet him. And that his life will never be the same.
The Legend of the Blue Rose and Glass Heart (T, 31K words) Yuri on Ice
In the troubled land of Rus, there exists a legend, a fragile strand of hope where almost none exists anymore. One day, the beautiful star known as the Blue Rose would travel to Earth and live among the people, wild and untamable. Only one could hope to capture it: the Glass Heart. If he succeeded, he could use its power to bring forward a new era of peace and heal a broken land. This is that story. The details are a bit different, though.
Dear Future Husband (G, 1K words) Yuri on Ice
Settling into his new life in Russia with his fiance, Yuuri decides to clean their apartment. Things get a little sidetracked when a beloved song begins to play.
Ripples on the Water (M, 28K words) Naruto
A crucial choice separates Iruka into two halves, two lives that take vastly diverging paths. One stays with the safe, the familiar, while the other takes the path less traveled, the one that forces you to start again and chart a new and possibly terrifying direction. This is the story of those two Irukas, and the ripple effects of that one single, life-altering choice.
Soul Dream My First Yuri!! On Ice fic!! (G, 800 words)
It’s night in my dream. It always is. But tonight is different. Tonight, there's a light. A light that will lead me to my future. To you.
You're Beautiful (T, 13K words) Naruto
A series of chance meetings keep bringing Kakashi and Iruka together. Is it serendipity, happenstance, fate? Is the universe forging a connection or a sick joke? Inspired by the song "You're Beautiful," by James Blunt. Written for the KakaIru discord server's September mission. Theme: voyage. Kakashi's mission, Rokudaime level.
Enough (E, 28K words) Naruto
Kakashi Hatake, despite being the lead singer of one of the most popular bands in the country, was at his lowest. The guilt of not being enough, of failing his best friend, ate at him little by little until there was hardly anything left. But tragedy sometimes brings needed change and opportunity. In Kakashi's case, opportunity had a name and a face. He'd thought that soulmates were a fairy tale, but it only took Iruka Umino walking into his life to change his mind completely. Can he ever be enough? Does he even want to open his heart enough to try? For Iruka, opportunity has a very unintended addition. He needs to be brave and push past a lifetime of disappointment if he wants the change that it brings. A change he so desperately needs, even though it scares him. Love wasn't what either of them wanted, but it might be exactly what they needed.
Food, Love, and the Masks We Wear (T, 9K) Naruto
Hound thought he'd successfully eradicated the ability to feel after he lost his team and sensei. Why, then, was he unable to look away from a hapless little boy trying to feed himself from a dumpster one seemingly unremarkable Autumn evening? The decision he makes will change the course of his life and show him that, sometimes, family has a way of finding and healing you from within, one meal at a time.
A Konoha Prankster in Queen Tsunade's Court (T, 37K words) Naruto
If anyone had told Iruka that he would end up here, he would have laughed in their faces. But here he was, lying on what looked like a stage, facing down a contingent of angry-looking nobility with a wide variety of swords stuck in his face. A woman, presumedly a queen if he’d hazard a guess, looked on from her throne with an expression of anger and just a little bit of curiosity. Well, crap. When a simple act of thievery lands recent twenty-first-century resident Iruka Umino in Renaissance England, how will he survive? How will he get his next ramen fix? And who is that hot silver-haired man staring daggers at him from across the room? He's definitely concerned about things in that order.
Catch A Falling Star (E, 44K)
After the things he's suffered, Kakashi was convinced that, outside of the dance that had always been his solace, feelings were something best left to others. Feelings, especially love, were dangerous and only brought pain. Then a chance encounter and a single dance with a handsome stranger threatened to tear all of his carefully constructed walls to shreds. Was it even possible to allow himself to trust after all this time? What is it about Iruka Umino that makes him want to try?
You Don't Know Until You Try (G, 1K)
Tenzo considered himself a good shinobi. He always did his work to the best of his ability and accepted his orders gracefully and professionally.
Which meant that he certainly didn’t deserve this.
When a well-meaning nudge to a certain superior to talk to the object of his affections goes hilariously wrong.
Give Me Everything (E, 3K)
They called it a festival. The reality, however, couldn’t be farther from the truth. Festivals were supposed to be things of joy and celebration, the air punctuated with the sound of laughter and jovial conversation. This was nothing like that. But it was Iruka's last chance to grab hold of the one thing he wanted more than anything. If he could only grasp onto that thing for one night, it would be enough. It was now or never, for they might not get tomorrow.
Family is Worth Fighting For (T, 19K)
Little did Iruka know that the night he found an ANBU trying to comfort a screaming infant in the orphanage would change his life forever. Or how a trio of broken people manage to put their pieces together to make a stronger, better whole.
I Kissed a Boy (And I Liked It) (T, 15K)
Kakashi Hatake was sixteen and never been kissed, a fact that, according to some of his friends, was a travesty. However, girls just never appealed to him, and he didn't know why. He finds out when an everyday act suddenly causes his entire world to tilt on its axis.
The culprit? A tube of cherry chapstick.
Hard Candy (E, 29K)
Hatake Kakashi is at the end of his rope. He has no job, no prospects, and his reputation is a shattered mess. But just when things seemed their bleakest, he receives a..rather unorthodox job offer from high-powered businessman and philanthropist Umino Iruka. Being the man's sugar baby/undercover bodyguard might just be his toughest job yet. Especially since there's just something about Umino Iruka that draws Kakashi in. He needs to resist the temptation, however. This is purely a business arrangement, after all. Famous last words.
Human (M, 7K)
Kakashi is the number one elite operative for the village of Konoha. He's a good machine, but like all machines, they begin to break under too much strain. Fortunately for Kakashi, Iruka arrives just in time to remind him that he's only human.
Naruto the Musical (G, 5K)
An innocent attempt at matchmaking goes hilariously wrong when a jutsu forces the village of Konoha to express their closely held secrets out loud. In song.
Hot for Teacher (E, 5K)
Iruka Umino is a young teacher with a problem. Kakashi Hatake, his former student turned first-year college student education major, is that problem.
Rewrite the Stars (E, 3K)
It was a long-established rule. ANBU were not allowed to have romantic entanglements. They were tools, trained killers. Emotions made one weak and inefficient. It was better not to feel at all. So why, knowing all that, was Hatake Kakashi, ANBU's elite Hound soldier, drawn to one Umino Iruka, a man who found him and patched him up one fall evening? It was impossible. They could never be together. But maybe, just maybe, they could rewrite the stars.
The Road of Life (T, 6K)
“You should make a scrapbook,” came a voice that startled Iruka out of his reverie.
He scowled. “How long have you been standing there, Anko?”
“Long enough,” Anko replied as she crossed the room and joined him on the bed. She gestured to the items. “A scrapbook would help preserve these memories and give you something to do. You can’t keep trying to push forward, Iruka. You need to process everything, and a craft might help with that. You’d be able to honor these memories by giving them a special place, and maybe it will allow you to heal, if only a little. What do you think?”
Iruka sat for a moment, gazing at the collection of treasures around him. “I think I’d like that,” he said quietly.
Say Something (G, 5K)
Kakashi was never good with words. The object of his affection was the opposite. Iruka Umino was loud where Kakashi was quiet, passionate where Kakashi was reserved. He wore his heart on his sleeve and was unafraid of telling people how much he cared with words and actions. Kakashi admired him immediately. Or, the one where Iruka discovers that love doesn't always need words, and Kakashi finally finds the words to tell Iruka how he feels.
Here Without You (M, 1K)
Three hundred and seventeen days, nine hours, and thirty-two minutes. That was how long it had been since he’d made the biggest mistake of his entire life. One that Kakashi regretted every day with an ache that threatened to pull him down into the oblivion he so rightly deserved. Tonight, the sharp edge of regret was keener than ever before. Tonight, he knew he’d finally passed the point of no return. Iruka had moved on.
A Rose By Any Other Name (G, 1K)
Iruka suddenly starts receiving roses from a secret admirer. Is this a prank or a declaration of affection?
Letters I'll Never Send (G, 4K)
Kakashi and Iruka can't say the things that they really want to tell the other out loud, so they begin writing each other letters that they never intend to send. Will they ever get the courage to confess? Or will they just continue pining in silence?
Wedding Bell Blues (T, 12K)
When the council tries to force Kakashi to marry because of an antiquated law that says all clan leaders have to marry by their thirtieth birthday, Iruka knows he needs to help somehow.
The Cutting Edge (T, 4K)
Star hockey player Iruka Umino lands an injury that bars him from playing hockey again. Kakashi Hatake is a world-renowned pairs figure skating champion without a partner but seems as cold as the ice he skates on. Can the two manage to overcome their initial animosity and work together? Sparks might fly and heads might roll.
Of Romance and Holidays (G, 3K)
Iruka really didn’t know what the hell he was thinking. Or that time when Iruka kissed an unconscious Kakashi Hatake in the hospital on Christmas Eve.
