Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (Em) has been writing fanfiction for more than a decade across a multitude of fandoms, including but not limited to: Les Miserables, Star Wars, The Hunger Games, & Doctor Who. As a professional writer “in real life”, Em employs fic writing as an escape from the pressures of perfectionism; writing fic has time and time again reminded them of the joy of writing when their professional career had taken that joy away.

HEADCANNON TIME!!! Otabek’s family is loaded (like old money loaded) when Yuri comes over for the first time he is shook, these people have 2 sets of stairs leading up to one floor. He meets bekas family and they love him (of course) anyway they get to talking about skating and Yuri mentions how if it wasn’t for government funding he wouldn’t be able to skate and Otabeks parents are a bit confused and just say “skating can’t be that expensive can it? Just ask your parents for the money if you need help” two things come to Yuri’s mind 1.it is when you’re skating under the top coach in Russia and 2. He is the primary provider in his family his parents aren’t in the picture and he sure as hell isnt going to ask his grandpa for money help that man has no source of income. But Yuri bites his tounge and stays polite not wanting to yell at his (hopefully) future husbands family. He eventually gets up to go to the restroom and once he walks out he hears Otabek trying to explain that yes skating is that expensive and Yuri doesnt have a financial safety net from his parents. When he comes back to the table no one brings up money or Yuri’s family anymore until Otabek’s 4 year old brother asks “so why doesnt your mom take care of you” Otabek spits his water and whacks him on the back of the head Yuri is just shocked by the question but after a few moments of silence he says “I don’t know…”

ok so this is another long shot but a few years ago there was a twitter post (in japanese i think?) that had measurememts for how to make this book stand thing out of cardboard that you could use to double up books and use up more space on shelves

back then i made a bunch of these but by now i lost the pic and dont know how to find the original post anymore

if it comes down to it i can just take one apart and get the measurements from there but i would be very grateful if anyone happens to have the original post or something similar??

don't mind how long it's been since i made this post, anyway i realized that i don't even need to take one apart to get the measurements when i can literally just unfold it and refold it /FACEPALM

so anyway here is the diagram for anyone else who is interested!!

this requires pretty big carboard pieces, if you have a really big box or something you can make it from one piece, but if you don't, you can also just make each of the pieces individually and then tape them together

and then in the end you put it together like this!!

and then when you make a bunch you can put them all next to each other and stack your books like crazy

I mostly write Otayuri but have been known to dabble with some other pairings (and a fair few different fandoms as well) over the years! Hi, I'm ocean! I've been writing for a long time now but a special sort of ghost has possessed me since watching Yuri!!! On Ice (and Haikyuu) where I have to have a fanfic running in my head and in my drafts at all times. I aspire to be the ao3 english-is-not-my-first-language author whose work leaves you unable to think about anything for a solid week. Hopefully, in a good way. But in this economy, I'll take bad way too :3

And now everyone say thank you to the ghost that possessed Ocean and inspired the writing of fic for us to enjoy! Ocean is on AO3 :D

There’s an uncomfortable flutter that’s settled in their gut. An anxious uneasiness that claws at their chest—their soul— and that won’t let them be. Marley University is only but a month away today, and them and Levi have barely talked about it since that night on Halloween. Of course, it wasn’t that they expected to bring it up every possible occasion— just that they hoped, being so close to it now, there would be mentions of a goodbye party planning. Or a conversation on who’d take them to the airport. Or anything, really."
