More OG Animal Crossing in my journal, my quest for the golden axe has begun and now I just need to maintain a perfect town for 14 more days. I'm not 100% sure why 7 year old me picked "middleto" as the town name, but I'm very fond of my old town.

I've had a lot of side-towns on other memory cards but I've deleted many of them over the years. One of the remaining ones has a very cool layout so I'm considering starting a fresh character and reviving the landscape there.

I also want to draw up a map like this (only nicer!) for my New Horizons town based on the 1973 Wicker Man.

I first got into journaling through youtube. I stumbled across one of those "journal with me" videos and suddenly, for a few days, all I could watch were people decorating their journals. And I'd thought "I wish I could do that, but my life is not interesting like that", you know? Most days I just stay home and do some chores and play with the cats, and that's not worth documenting, is it?

But still I couldn't get the idea off my mind. So I made a notebook from scratch, and decided it was gonna be my journal. I didn't have anything to write on it, but I could decorate the pages anyway. And then I discovered art journal and junk journal, and for a while I did that and I was happy.

After a while, I found a pretty notebook and bought it without realizing it had lined paper. Now I had to write on it, right? So I did. Instead of writing about my day, I write about the animes I watch, the music I listen, the things that make me happy... I don't write every day, but I write about things I love and that I think are gonna be worth to remember in the future.

So, if someone out there reads this, and is thinking about journaling but doesn't know what to write, well, write about what makes you happy. It's the best advice I could give you.

Holy SHIT. I just finished reading a related article, and y’all, this was so corrupt OTHER SFPD COPS ARE STANDING WITH THE KIDS.

Like basically their take is “yeah, some kids were being unruly. Y’all handled it ENTIRELY the wrong way and there is zero reason this should have happened.” There was an official meeting (I think like a monthly town hall kind of thing? I forgot to take note when I read it) and the cop who’s in charge of internal conduct investigation was there and he. Was. PISSED. And inviting parents and teens involved to give their testimony on the specifics of the rights violations they experienced so he could follow up and make full reports.

Like you KNOW shit’s fucked when even other police are looking at the police chief and saying “what the fuck is wrong with you?”

hi, i actually live in the bay, and have friends and comrades who were affected by this, i have no fucking idea where you got the notion that other police officers are going against their coworkers and city officials when SFPD !and they mayors office has made it plenty clear they see nothing wrong with what they did

The beauty of the paper journal is subtle. If you write when you need to, sometimes with some colors. If you tape in things from around. if you draw when you want, even if it's only rarely. Each of these things is small. Perhaps functional, perhaps as a distraction, they are all fine until they're left behind. The beauty of the paper journal is the concentrated and wonderful artifact it becomes.
