False love tells you what you want to hear.
Real love tells you the whole truth.
False love gives you whatever you want.
Real love gives you what you truly need.
False love cares only for your emotional appeasement.
Real love cares about you.
Biblical love corrects, reproves, and disciplines
because real love doesn’t turn a blind eye.
i hate it when christians say "oh i won't do this because they aren't doing it for me" or "i won't say x nice thing about them because they wouldn't say it about me" or "oh i'm not going to be kind to this group of people because they aren't being kind to me" like hello??? have you read the gospel???
You're not going to be held accountable for what others did to you. You're going to be accountable for your own actions and that excuse won't cut it babe
like sorry to say but if you only extend kindness and good words and generosity and mercy to people who are or think or act like you, there's nothing setting you apart from heathens girlies
“If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them! And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much!” Luke 6:32-33
There’s a difference between taking care of yourself and being self centered.
Most “self love” rhetoric is just self-centered. We’ve turned selfishness into a virtue. And we sell this virtue in books, on tshirts, and in facebook likes.
Meant to stay in tags but I dislike that "treat yoself" became its own tag when I was discussing how it isn't a good viewpoint and wondering what happened to the other half of that tag ;; it makes it look like I was arguing against the post when I was doing the opposite and supporting it aaaaaaaa
Hello! Can you please pray for me. Our group is starting a new church, and as our pastor is leading the meeting on how we are going to do it, he began to ask for suggestions on what to do. Some members volunteered to do some stuff, and pastor began assigning tasks (or ministry, as we call it) to other members. I was left alone without anything to do. It made me disappointed and sad. Im struggling right now because I dont want to harbor any bitterness toward my pastor, or envy those who has gifts. I wanted to help but i dont know how to.
Of course I'll pray!
That must be a really hard situation to be in. Just know that you do have spiritual gifts, regardless of who sees them. I recommend volunteering in small ways however you can.
If this is a new church, one important thing anyone can do is bring in new members! Invite friends and family if you can or even coworkers.
I also recommend speaking to your pastor about it and ask where you can be helpful. Managing a group is challenging and it can be hard to find good roles for everyone.
This kind of thing takes time. Even people who do have an assigned role right now might not be happy with what they're doing months down the line.
And remember: the most important thing you can do for the church is to worship! And be there!
Humans assign roles and deem anyone who doesn't have a role as useless. God doesn't do that. He loves you if you are a leader, an encourager, a teacher, or just another member of the family.
By worshiping God and loving Him, you're doing all he requires.
I don't want to scare anyone, but the time for Christian persecution in America is approaching. The signs of it are everywhere. You're willfully blind if you deny it.
But this isn't a bad thing. Well, it's a bad thing in that evil people are going to hurt Christians, of course, but... it's a natural thing. This is what our people have always faced. It's a part of this life and the life that comes after is the only thing that matters.
Right now, you live for Christ, but tomorrow, you will have to make the choice to die for him. That's a certainty for many of us I'm sure. If I'm wrong, praise the Lord, but I'm sure I'm not. And what life would we have if we just lived safely, ignoring persecution around us.
When the time comes, you must remember that your social standing, your job, your health, your safety and your life... they are things of this world and they amount to nothing without God.
It is a blessing to die for Him.
Hi! I'm looking for a place to stay near the place where I work. Can you pray that I may find one? I was hoping it would not be too expensive, and that the neighborhood would not be too dangerous or unsafe for me. Thank you, may God bless you 😊
Of course! I'll pray for you! 💜💜💜
Hope you’re having a good day and god bless you 🥰
Ah! Same to you! Thank you so much!
As a Christian what are the things you’re most concerned with and your goals?
Do you think the ways of the world can temp us into things we wouldn’t necessarily be concerned with or want if we didn’t constant see it like an example I think for me personally is how I feel v happy and so happy that I know God but then if I spend a little too much time on Instagram or listening to people go on about typical worldly things I guess I can get a bit stressed like I should do that or need to go to places and post to my IG or starts to make me ruminate on these things etc
Hmmm yeah that's a big topic. You're definitely right, the world tempts us with all the manner of things. Harmless things become dangerous when Satan sees that they can be used against us.
I'm concerned with a lot, especially from a Christian standpoint. I worry about my salvation and that of the people I love. I worry that I'm not doing enough or that I'm too relaxed towards His law. I worry that I'm not making him proud. I guess my goals are to let there be no more reason for those worries. Y'know?
Anyway, that's a topic we could talk for hours on. All I can say now is that I pray God will be there with us every step of the way. God bless you, friend.
Hello 💓
If I sin and it’s something I struggle with can I still run to God and keep asking for help and repent ? I feel like sometimes if it’s something I continually struggle with then god is getting sick of me for it and I know if that’s probably a lie but I sometimes feel like I have to wait a certain length of time after sinning to be able to go to God again yk
God doesn't get sick of people. If he gave up on people, he would never have sent Jesus to die for us. Go to God immediately when you mess up. Then make an effort not to do it again. Go and sin no more.
Idk what sin you're struggling with, but I recommend making a plan to stop yourself from doing it if it's such a habitual thing for you. For example, if you struggle with anger, find ways to manage anger online and actually use them. Or if you struggle with lust, take a long break from the internet, so you don't have the chance to search for something that's harmful to you.
Also, the more God occupies your mind, the easier it is to resist temptation. I recommend if you're in a tough spot and are having trouble avoiding it to read the Bible twice a day and pray every time you get tempted.
But when you do sin, he will take you back. I pray that God will not only forgive you, but make your sin repuslive to you. I pray that he will remove your desire for the pleasures that whatever it is gives you. Now is the time to run back to him even faster and stay with him longer.
You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.
Psalm 63:1
Please pray for my friend K and her two children. Her husband died today.
“We just started counseling “Taylor”– a 19-year-old pregnant with triplets – after she was referred to Let Them Live by a sidewalk counselor outside of an abortion clinic. She is currently 13 weeks pregnant and scheduled an abortion for this upcoming Saturday, January 15th.”
I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist; return to me, for I have redeemed you.
-Isaiah 44:22
my mother is extremely sick (blood oxygen 86; fever 103) but no doctors will see her because she has a positive covid test. please please pray for her
we might have found a doctor for her, praise God. Please keep praying
Both of my parents have double pneumonia. My mom is worse than my dad. I have faith that the Lord will heal them both. Please keep praying
Hello! Would you please pray for me? I feel like I’m very confused right now on what my next steps should be. I trust God but I also think I struggle to know for sure certain things and I just wanna make sure it is right
Yeah, I totally understand. It's really hard, especially in this world. God has you, no matter what happens. Even if you make the wrong decision.
I'll pray for your clarity.
