I’ve personally used both the flat single-filter version AND the triangular two-filter version, and based on subjective personal experience I would argue that the benefits from the second filter, both in terms of airflow and filtration, are absolutely worth it. If you need a makeshift air filter and you have two filters to work with, build the triangle (if not the box, i have no idea how good that one works but based on the info here i presume it’s a fair bit better.)

Christians ought to be careful when we talk about digital age problems like attention span. the most obvious ditch to fall into is to say "it's not your fault, you just need Ridulin/Adderall" or "you were all born with short attention spans and that's ok. rights for goldfish!"

but the other ditch is to say, "the problem is not your brain, it's all about discipline." yeah, it is all about discipline, but the problem is also your brain. because practicing habitual behaviors creates neural shortcuts in your brain, especially if those behaviors (*cough*social media*cough*) activate dopamine or serotonin.

our souls and bodies are intertwined, they are not rightly separate entities. the choices you make with your intellect affect your body and vice versa.

this does not erase personal responsibility. you still have agency, you've just chosen to use agency on Hard Mode because of the habits you've developed. (I'm including myself here)

the good news is that those neurological pathways work the other way. it's much harder than indulging in technological mind candy all day, but you can blaze new habit trails in your brain that are good and healthy and will extend your attention span.
