So saying someone shouldn’t own a pet if they’re going to abuse the poor animal is an elitist thing now? Wow, just say you condone animal abuse and go. Also, it isn’t up to a child to do the research for their new pet. The PARENT- you know, the grown individual who should know how to use Google?- should be researching the pet to see if the pet is a proper fit for their child.

There's this show called "you can do better" and i was watching an episode cause its about pets and they some good information but then they said "if you can't afford a dog but still want a pet get a goldfish they only cost around $35 a year" and the showed a big goldfish in a small bowl -_-

This may be an insanely silly question but can you keep fish in a plastic tub(not a bowl) as opposed to a glass tank?

If it’s strong enough to hold the weight of the water, and has a large enough volume for the fish- absolutely!

Yes you totally can! :) With tub-tanks it’s important to make sure that plastic doesn’t leaches any kind of chemicals, and to make sure that the heater (if your fish requires one) doesn’t heat up or melt the plastic tub :p This video has good tips for setting up a budget-friendly tub-tank:
