Got my September 2013 Hammock Pack this weekend. Woohoo!!! Great pack, really loved it. This month's theme was Colorado, a state which I love (though have never lived there). The box included snack items as well as a few beauty items.
Packing List:
Two Haute Girls - Gourmet Popcorn
Boulder Granola - Gluten-free Granola
Salus Soap - Bath Bomb in Lilac & Lotion Bar in Starfruit & Mango
Soaps to live by - Thyme Lemongrass Soap
Melt Bath & Skincare - Lip Butter in Strawberry
Great pack, am I right? The popcorn is long gone already at this point. The granola will likely take awhile to get through--I'm actually not a big granola eater. I'm still waiting for the one granola I'll eat that will convert me. Hasn't happened yet though...!
The Melt lip butter is amazing--smells delicious and literally just melts when you use it. The Salus bath bomb and lotion bar smell delicious as well and seem to be pretty good quality. I haven't tried them out yet, but the smell certainly makes them promising! The Soaps to live by soap is interesting. I'm sure it will be a great bar of soap, but I've never loved the smell of thyme.
All in all, great Hammock Pack box this month. Total value comes out to One thing I wish is that there were more unique handmade items in the monthly box that aren't just bath products. Living in NYC, I never get to use all the awesome bubble baths and bath bombs that we get. What a bummer! Plus, I already subscribe to a few beauty boxes, so it's getting to be too much. Nonetheless, the items are carefully curated and always of high quality. Love it.
Haven't been on here awhile, but keeping up my subscription box addiction. Love my Birchbox this month, especially the lip gloss and nail polish!
Here's what I got:
- Benefit Cosmetics Sugarbomb Ultra Plush Lip Gloss
- Coola Tinted Matte SPF 30 for Face
- Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive (I've heard great things about this, and just got it in my Yuzen box)
- Racinne Ultimate Youth Power Eye Serum
- Ruffian Nail Lacquer in Delirium (love this color, but wish it was matte!)
Yummy yum yum, it's March 2013 Birchbox time. I received this box awhile ago, and absolutely loved it. The blueberry shaving cream smells absolutely divine, and the nail polish is cute. I don't normally use patterned nails, but this is clearly easy enough, so I'll give it a try.
I don't love the Serge Normant. It makes my hair greasy and white. I wish it worked though, as I've been looking for a nice dry shampoo for awhile.
Here's the packing list:
Whish shave cream in blueberry
Serge Normant Volumizing Dry Shampoo
Madewell nail polish
Twist hair band
Incoco nail polish appliques
March 2013 Hammock Pack-Spa Day
One of my favorite subscription boxes is Hammock Pack (check out their site here: http://hammockpack.com/). Every month Erin, the owner and pack curator, picks a theme for a day of respite. It's awesome and such a great idea. This month was by far my favorite!
First off, the box-unveiling is always a surprise. This month I came across this adorable preparation when opening my Hammock Pack:
Cute, eh?
Here's the box:
Sometimes I felt the pack was a bit underwhelming in value, but this month's was a resounding hit for me. I didn't calculate the value itself, but for me it's worth the $30 I spent on it.
Here's the snack portion of the box:
Yep. I opened the coconut chips before I took the picture. And they're already gone, in case you were wondering.
And the spa goodies:
Total Packing List:
Aqua Blossom Lip Polish (in Buttercream) and Facial Steam
Dang Foods Coconut Chips
Good Cacao Superfood Chocolate
Ayelet Handmade Organic Soap (in Almond Cookie)
Teatulia Organic Green Tea
Aura Cacia Aromatherapy Milk & Oat Bath
The Pollia condensata, what an interesting and beautiful plant.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! I don't even celebrate it, but I'm wearing an awful lot of green and eating Irish soda bread, so you decide.
Today I got my February Birchbox. I'm very happy I got what I did, as most of it is useful to me! I'm especially excited to try the curl cream, nail polish (which is a perfect emerald shade) and the BB cream.
Do I feel embarrassed by my subscription to these boxes? Yes. Do I care? No. Why? Because they're so much fun. Plus it's my birthday week so no one can pass judgment on me!
Packing List: Color Club Nail Polish in Wild Cactus
Dr. Jart+ Black Label Detox BB Beauty Balm
Miss Jessie's Original Pillow Soft
Vasanti Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator
Treat: Ghirardelli Milk & Caramel Square (which I ate immediately upon opening.)
I need to do my detox again.
It was amazing. I actually miss being on detox.
And day two begins.
2013
Is my kinda year. I'll keep reminding myself that if I almost forget it.
Today I went ice skating for the first time in maybe 10 years!!
Exhausted, but the dizzy club coca cola was sweet sweet music for the soul.
The word...
shroud. Oh the word shroud and how it makes me shudder.
Time for bed. My pack for tomorrow. Going to a jazz show at night so gotta take jewelry and makeup with me too!
An amazing photography series and cultural exploration.

This is pretty awesome.
