Types of people you will meet in a Hostel

1. The partying Aussie.

Lets face it they are the life of the party they've been everywhere and have done everything. There the ones going ham in the hostels, they are extreme and fun they have done it owned it and perfected the art of partying in developing countries.

2. The Flash packer.

These guys have money, they are not on a strict bed bug sleeping bread eating tight budget, they travel with HD cameras, phones, and laptops, you will usually find them in a private room in corporate hostels with wifi and breakfast and they are not afraid to spend a little more then you.

3 The I thought this was a Hotel guy

You can spot this person with there rolling luggage and mac book, they are the ones in the hostel room watching your every moment the second you open that door these are the ones that leave bad reviews on trip advisor complain about everything that makes a hostel a hostel.  They are the ones that will lock you out of a hostel room if there is a dead bolt, turn on the light at 3am, and start packing at 8 am rustling bags or clicking snooze on alarms they don't socialize in the common room and complain about breakfast.

4 the Gay guy

the quite gay guy he usually keeps to himself, is in the bedroom by 9 0-clock on his laptop or mp3 player, in  the day time he disappears to do touristy things, he is usually good looking but to shy to strike a conversation with you.

5 the locals

there are not from the city you are staying in but are from the country you are in, they travel in groups. Are usually students on some kind of school break they have basic room respect.

6 The couple.

You can spot them sharing a single bed at night.  They are very sociable and love to have fun with other backpackers hey do everything together,  they don't show any PDA

7. Chinese group

They are loud and allot of them, they do everything together so they tend to intentionally hog the kitchen, they usually only stay for about 2 nights, they do not go pub crawling and tend to vanish early in the morning.

Tips for sleeping at an Airport

1. Bring your bags with you

Make sure you have your bags for you look like a traveler; the last thing you want is airport security  waking you up because they think you are homeless.

It has happened to me last month, my luggage was stuck in a transfer, I had no bags with me, 3  hours before my flight, a security guard wakes me up, I was very grumpy. I said "of course I’m flying" in the most snobby voice ever, I showed my boarding pass then he  left.

2. Find somewhere to sleep.

If the airport does not have a dedicated official quite area, go find your know, stay away from  heavy traffic areas like baggage, the front doors, depending on the cleaning staff there are nice  ones who will let you sleep, and ones who will wake you.  

I caught one doing it while I was sleeping in a Edmonton airport, after he cleaned the area, I  caught him coming back, and for a couple seconds he would put on the loud squeaky Zamboni   sound on, there was no way he was cleaning, he already cleaned it hours before, he would just do   the noise near us.  

3. Equipment

Use your jacket as a blanket, and clothes as a pillow. If you do not have ear plugs, headphones   work just as well. ware a winter hat for the ear plugs do not fall out. Set your cell phone as an  alarm keep it under you're make shift pillow, or hide it in your beg, turn it to airplane mode, to  save battery.

4. You Can’t Sleep

Hit up the premium lounge for the night, in  the end it is allot cheaper in the end, think about it   you’re at the airport for hours you, will probably eat 2 times, hit up the coffee shop and do some   shopping, If you go straight, and skip all that other stuff you will be spending 60$ tops, I usually  stay in them for about 3 hours, about 30 40 dollars depending on the place, these places are great,  and not allot of people go to them, so you will have 2 to 3 people taking care of you, the lounge  usually has a shower, washroom, Wi-Fi, TV’s desks, chargers, food, sometimes the food sucks,  breakfast usually sucks, you get 2 free alcoholic drinks, and unlimited normal beverages.  

5. Airports I slept in.

So  I have slept in the Vancouver Airport, this was nice, I sleep upstairs at the closed food court,  there was plenty of outlets, there was allot o annoying kids down stairs.

The Edmonton Airport this place was empty one other person was sleeping there, this was place  was the one with the annoying janitor, there was nothing to do when I woke up

The Lima Airport, this one had a huge group of Backpackers with sleeping bags and the whole  shebang, there was also people sleeping in the food court, I slept on the floor, when I woke there.

 So you just arrived from a connecting flight, you are very sleepy, eyes are heavy, they feel like  boulders, arms feel like there chained to the ground, knees can’t take it anymore, the nearest   airport hotel is 300$ a night for a couple of hours, you decided to sleep at the airport.

Always listen

 That heavy feeling in my chest (instincts) is always right. call it crazy I don't care. I was sitting get up was about to ignore feeling. look under chair there's my passport on the ground.

New traveler mistake, packing to much in your carry on, it creates a safety hazard not to mention slows unloading of the plane, there's no way you are going to use all that stuff on the plane, the whole point of a carry on.

Some times you should stay in a all inclusive resort in some resort towns, I didn't 3 headaches later and 2 days later I finally find a grocery store.  I was living off coffee and candy before that #juiceinabag
