In my ongoing series, "Ghosts and Robots on Vacation" I collect vintage Post Cards and add my characters into the scenes. I always have a few for sale at any of the Art Fairs I'm a part of. One of my customers sent me a nice cache of cards with the only request being that I send her back the one she put a stamp and her address on. I've been waiting about a year to send this off. So sad to hear a true original is gone. His music, spirit and soul will inspire, rock and comfort us forever. This matchbook collage I created hangs in St Paul at Black Sheep Pizza. Each individual matchbook is its own collage. I then group all those matchbooks together to create a unique image. Since the Minnesota State Fair is opening today here's a #tbt from Cedar Elementary in Eagan. The school closed in '82 when I was in 5th grade. Mrs Olson was the Art Teacher and a supporter of my creative output at the time, mostly Garfield and Smurf drawings. When the school closed she started a Yogurt shop in the #IDSCrystalCourt. When she tried to get a Yogurt Booth going at the Fair, the Fair wasn't interested but they were looking for a Cookie booth. Did she have a good Chocolate Chip recipe? The answer was "No" but she said "Yes" and #sweetmarthascookies was born. It's been so cool to see her success. Her overflowing buckets of cookies are truly part of the tradition of the State Fair. We line up with the crowds for an overflowing Cone of Cookies. It's the only line at the fair no one seems to mind standing in. So a tip of the brush today to the Mrs "Sweet Martha" Olson who taught me the color wheel and told me painting faces on rocks was a "Great Idea!" This year I'm going find her and say hello, it's on my State Fair to do list. #mnstatefair #colorwheel #warmcookiesduh
