unfortunately I am more devoted to chaos and horror than most other things in sport so I had a GREAT time. on twelve hour tape delay after climbing over and under 75 trees on trail mind
wait I just got to lewis’ podium interview. the psychology of this situation needs to be studied in a lab

in 24 plates #6: Monaco
The list of specifically Monégasque foods is unsurprisingly pretty short, I can’t be bothered to deep-fry at home, and it had to be made in advance because we were backpacking this weekend. So: fougasse!
A decent chunk of the recipes in English were on… other F1 food blogs. Which was a bit too ourobouros for me, so I used this French-only one from Julie Andrieu. As it turns out I remain just fluent enough for cooking. I… don’t know if that helped, though. These turned out kind of weird.
Not because of changes I had to make either: not because these should be topped with aniseseed covered in red and white candy, which are definitely not sold in shops around here and are cheetos-level Dont Try This At Home, so I used just plain aniseseed on top instead. Not because I skipped the demitasse of neutral oil in the ingredients, because it didn’t seem to fit in anywhere and there were already two fats.
No, it’s because the recipe photo showed normal-sized cookies, and I got these things the size of my hand! Undoubtedly my own fault, but how I have no idea. The dough is very very rich and they taste very strongly of anise. We thought they were… okay? Better luck next time anyhow.
Bittern at the grocery store
A very elegant crime.
(edit: my partner just pointed out that maybe the bittern is going to pay, and that's a good point)
Don't worry, his disguise was flawless and he got away with his snack :)
Persepolis, Marjane Satrapi
If she's more interested in playing football right now than chasing boys, well, quite frankly, I'm over the moon about that.

somebody turn down the freaking touch sensitivity on the ads on here oh my GOD
the belief i have in my ability to carry any amount of stuff home if i am equipped with my backpack and two reusable totes is hubristic to a degree that the achaeans fighting at troy could only have dreamed of
