I am very concerned for the women who won't end up passing these tests (not even only trans women, if there are any, but also intersex women) because it's going to be made public and they are going to be harassed. It's such a horrible move by the wta. They, as always, don't care about their players' safety.
literally this is exactly what has happened when this kind of testing has been implemented before by the olympics. (i say "this kind" of testing as if that article wasn't an anti-scientific, non-specific load of bs) - because genetics are complicated and messy, chromosomal testing has only ever turned up cis women with undiagnosed intersex variations, up-ending their lives, identities and careers, and causing completely unnecessary harm all the way round.
a thing about me is i basically never notice a wig or other kind of hairpiece in tv/movies. it has to be party city territory for me to even twig it. people will complain about characters' wigs looking bad and i will nod along but there is like a 90% chance i did not notice for a second while watching. i consider this mostly a blessing.
This comment was left on a post about making the most of the Libby app. "Excessive use of generous lending policies" is the most absurd phrase I've ever seen anyone use to discuss libraries.

Summary:
Jack and Whitaker are like that, the two of them layered over each other like a double exposure in the periphery of Robby’s vision. Time sloshes into itself and suddenly, just for a moment, Robby’s peering into Jack’s past or Whitaker’s future. And there he is between them, caught in the fulcrum of an eternal present.

Robby begins to suspect something unspeakable about his lovers.
So excited to finally post this! If Hucklerabbot incest isn't your jam, give this one a pass, but if those tags speak to you, I hope you'll enjoy it.

controversial stance but i do wish i could live forever. i certainly live like i'm going to live forever. i take my time. realistically however my lifespan is dreadfully limited and there are things i've "been meaning to do" that i will never get around to. the Emoji Movie came out almost 10 years ago. in all that time on any random day i could've decided to sit down and watch it, and i did not. how many more decades will slip by like this? conceivably, it could be all the decades i have left. watching the Emoji Movie would not be, after all, a crucial use of my time. much better things to do. i could easily postpone it over and over and over until my final breath where it may not even register to me that i never did watch the Emoji Movie. no great loss, certainly; and yet i find myself intrigued by Patrick Stewart's involvement

never have i been proven more right about my predictions for a tv show than today, when i looked at the ‘sneak peeks’ of easterlings from the rings of power season 3 and realised with a sinking feeling that i was indeed right in my predictions as to what route they were setting up to go with this plotline in season 2, ie taking tolkien’s deliberately constructed racist elements with the haradrim and easterlings and adapting it uncritically for the post 9/11 anglo-western racial imaginary where the audience catered for want surface level representative diversity yet cannot sleep at night if they don’t find a jihadi in every foreign villain, belying a lack of any of the deeper engagement with race in the text like they’ve been claiming to do for the last five years. literally do not have the energy to type it all up again so please enjoy my rant on the matter from elsewhere

i've seen more than a few posts on here about people loving stories with unreliable narrators, but it's funny. i'm definitely not saying the same people are also saying what i'm about to talk about, it's just funny to see them both in the same spaces on tumblr.com. because so many people on here actually hate unreliable narrators and don't seem to believe they even exist. because they take everything a character says as 100% factual especially if they like them, no matter how obvious it is that the character is being, you know. unreliable.
