Since Norn9 got an anime do you think Code: Realize will?
Hi there! Actually at the event “Otomate Party 2015″ back in August it was announced that “Code: Realize” is getting an anime!As of right now we don’t know when it will come out other that it’s slated for sometime in 2016. We also don’t know if it’ll be a TV anime or possibly an OVA. Personally I think given that Norn9 is airing on TV in Japan so will Code: Realize (I’m sure Otomate wants to give the franchise even more exposure to attract new fans).
As a disclaimer, I’m adding this all just my personal opinion and only theoretical and ultimately time will tell:
Looking around at some release schedules & dates of special events, I’m thinking the Code: Realize anime will come out in the Fall of 2016. Otomate likes to stretch things out to entice fans & sell as much merchandise during the waiting period. Yes, Otomate will milk a franchise for all it can. Consider the following:1. The Norn9 anime was announced back in March of 2014 but didn’t premier until January of 2016.
2. Norn9 is considered a Winter anime. I have not been able to find out the number of episodes but if it’s at least 12, it will last at least until Spring. I’m sure Otomate doesn’t want any of their anime competing against each other, so it’s highly unlikely we’ll see Code: Realize in anime form in the spring.
3. Code: Realize Character CDs: A total of 5 character CD’s (one per character) are schedule to be released consecutively starting in March and ending in July. I wouldn’t put it past me Otomate wants you to buy the CD’s and focus on getting those. Code: Realize fans will be getting “something” from the franchise so no need to have the anime out yet.
4. Otomate Summer Market: Another merchandise special event that takes place in June-July so again, more Code: Realize items you can get while playing the waiting game for news.5. Otomate Party 2016: I believe this usually takes place in August (as it did last year), so here’s the perfect spot to FINALLY release some information about the anime (if we’ve not heard anything during the summer) and of course, the upcoming Code: Realize Fan Disk game.
6. I looked at the Code: Realize Twitter account and it goes far back as May of 2014 but the game did not come out until November of 2014, so that’s SIX months of marketing/promotion to get people into the game, further proving how much they’ll stretch it out in order to sell big.
The TL;DR: This is all a marketing strategy from Otomate to get you to buy buy buy until they feel it’s enough, fans are getting tired of waiting and moving on. Then it’ll be time to release the anime. Believe me, I do hope we hear something about both the Code: Realize anime AND the Fan Disk around summer time, but I wouldn’t be surprised either if all this is held back until the 2016 Otomate Party or even that the CR anime is a 2017 Winter anime. I get the feeling they will want to have the CR Fan Disk game out first.
Just my two cents in this. Be ready to arm yourself with patience & if the waiting gets too long, check out some other franchises or hopefully we’ll have some other otome games for consoles this year to help pass the time.
