Sock Journal: Our Proudest Year Yet
Every year we do a round-up of our rainbow socks for June, which we hold dear as Pride Month! In past years we’ve even branched out to suggest styles and combinations of styles which best represent the other pride flags, but this year we went ahead and made our own! Additionally, we’ve been rethinking our rainbows and adding exciting new variations, because whatever kind of pride you wish to express, we want to have you covered!
Because we know that pride month is about more than rainbows, we created our own line of Proud Stripes after receiving requests for them last June. We started with four different flag stripes, and it immediately became clear that four wasn’t enough! Now we have seven different colorways and two different lengths, by popular demand!
Proud Stripes in Pink Rainbow are based off the original Pride Flag designed by Gilbert Baker.
Neon Pink/Neon Purple/Turquoise stripes represent the Pansexual Pride flag.
Columbia/Rose/White stripes for Trans Pride.
Black/Grey/White/Purple stripes make an Asexual Pride flag.
Purple/White/Kelly stripes for Genderqueer Pride.
Neon Yellow/White/Purple/Black stripes form the Nonbinary Pride flag.
Neon Pink/Purple/Royal stripes represent Bisexual Pride.
In fact we love our Proud Stripes so much that our Pride Month seasonal logo sticker currently features the pink rainbow stripes! Add one to your next order for free, but don’t wait too long - she’s only available while supplies last!
Speaking of pink rainbows, this year we got inspired by the softer side of this favorite and versatile colorway. Introducing two lighter, retro-style rainbows: Pastel Rainbow and Sidewalk Chalk!
Most recently we were inspired to bring in some vertical rainbow stripes, but then we thought we’d mix things up even further… in our new Dreamer Nocturnal Rainbows and Dreamer Laser Rainbows, you can decide if you want the full spectrum, all warm tones, or all cool tones! Since the full rainbow features one cool leg and one warm leg, you can buy two pairs (either two rainbow or one each of the warm and cool options) and have the option to wear them as all three configurations!
Dreamer Nocturnal Rainbows feature our regenerated cotton yarns and muted color pallet from our Harvest Rainbows.
Dreamer Laser Rainbows feature our high quality acrylic yarns, in the same bold, bright colors as our Radiant Rainbows.
Of course, we’ve still got a whole array of our regularly scheduled rainbows and gifts for Pride to choose from, so even if our innovative new styles for Pride aren’t quite You, you should be able to find something that is! Just remember this one important thing…. we are incredibly proud of our amazing, unique customer base, and we wouldn’t change a single one of you. Happy Pride Month!

Sock Dreams does not fuck around even a little.
#ok but do they fit on big girl legs? (via @wtfitsliiz)
That is a great question, and my answer is: I don’t know, but probably yes.
The website says this:
US shoe size: 7-14 women’s, 5-12 men’s Stretch, around leg: 25 inches at cuff, 21 inches mid-sock
If those numbers mean anything to you, hooray! They’re meaningless to me, because I have no spatial perception. I will say, though, that Sock Dreams is generally fantastic about stocking (hah!) socks that fit a wide range of legs. They have testers of all shapes and sizes give them feedback (sockback?) If there’s something they absolutely
have to have in their stock that doesn’t go up to bigger sizes, they’re really up-front about that, so you don’t end up disappointed by something that doesn’t fit.
And, since these are house brand, my guess is that they are extra likely to fit big girl legs, because Sock Dreams truly values legs of all sizes.
Generally the more colour changes within a line (like if there’s a complicated woven design on the side of a sock), the less stretch it has. The simple stripes should be fine (21 inches is about the circumference of your head, without ponytails or buns or anything). 25 inches at the cuff means you literally could pull it down over your face.
Clearly I have been wearing socks wrong my entire life…
Well I was hoping that would give spatially-impaired people a reference?? I mean I have large calves because of genetics and I cycle a lot and roller skate so let me tell you I am aware of how knee-high socks try to strangle my legs. And I’m also a costumer with a pretty good spatial sense so…
They should work on bigger legs, but it will depend some one how you like to wear your socks. We’ve found that the longer Proud Stripes can be cuffed down to be knee highs on bigger legs, if they don’t fit you as an over-the-knee option.
Here’s one of us Dreamers rocking the Pink Rainbow colorway as a knee high.
I hope that helps!

@sockdreams When will the Trans Proud Stripes be back in stock? Any idea..? I really want those + a pair of the Lesbian ones you’re polling customers for right now, so I can wear one of each on my legs!
The Trans colorway and the Ace colorway are currently on reorder. We’re expecting the Trans ones to arrive next week (around the 14th), and the Ace ones the week after (around the 20th), hopefully sooner rather than later.
If you go to the Proud Stripes (or the crews) and select the colorway you’re waiting on, it should bring up a box where you can enter your email to be notified when more arrive.

I still can’t believe I live in the same city as a sockdreams brick and mortar store and haven’t been.
I feel so #blessed by all these casual amazon photos
