My Quirky Cat

One of the reasons I chose a male cat was because I wanted one that would be affectionate and liked to be held. Females can be a bit moody at times....As Milo and I got used to living together he began to cuddle more and climb up onto my shoulders. Soon it was his favorite place to curl up after a day at work. He gets on the couch and reaches up until I bend down to let him climb up, and then he just purrs and purrs and purrs.

During our first week together, Milo and I discovered some things we had in common. We both like to watch How I Met You Mother. Milo likes it so much, he has to get as close as possible. We just can't get enough of Neil Patrick Harris. Still a kitten, he had to learn that TV is not meant to be watched at such a close distance. But, this took a while....

I think these pictures speak for themselves for the most part. Milo has three unique habits:

1) He prefers to use the litter box when someone is around to provide company. That means he is often running straight to the box when I come home from work. 

2) I am always proud of him when he uses the box, as all cat owners know some cats choose not to use the box sometimes. Milo is very good about standing in the box, but not always good at aiming in the box....it must be the young boy in him.

3) Other times, Milo takes the rocket ship pose. There is no way he will miss the box this way. Even with a cover on the box can't keep him from his statuesque posture, looking a little like the Ariel from the Little Mermaid. 

Milo certainly is a unique cat with unique habits and that is what makes him special.

Milo curling up in any space he can fit where his back feet hit him in the face. He started to figure out how to grab hold of his foot and chew on it. He turned into a nail bitter at an early age.

Milo's first discovery of the blinds.  He learned that when they are open, he can see the world outside and that the string hangs low for him to play with.  Therefore the blinds should always stay open and will be destroyed if they are closed.

During Milo’s first weeks at home he was given everything and every toy a kitten could ask for.  The felt wand soon became his favorite toy to play with, whether that be alone or with his human friends.  He loves to drag, push and chase the wand around.  Now, he drags it all over the apartment, bringing it onto the bed in the morning hoping I will play with him.

The first photo of my kitten, Milo, the brown one.  Little did I know when I went to the shelter to choose my cat he would curl up in my arms, steal my heart and change my life forever...
