“I could roll with that. And, actually the full name would be Myrabelle, really, but, Myra is just easier, and shorter, so, it was better than being called Myrabelle all of the time.”
“I suppose that’s true. I’m just nearly never home, so they’d die before I’d get to enjoy them. Special occasion vase then? My house was filled with that shit on rotation. Fair enough.”
“I guess you can say I don’t really have a whole lot of problems being home. My work hours can be quite flexible and I do enjoy having things like that to cheer the place up a little. That must not be nice... You should have a couple of things to call, you know, yours...”
{Jackie and Myra} "would you look at that"
Jackie:
“Well…this is awkward” was all the gamer could say, once he realized that both he and Jackie were standing under a mistletoe. It was already late when Jackie decided to stop by his shop and visit, but just as Max was about to close up shop, she noticed it hanging above the store’s entrance. How did a mistletoe get hanged up there in the first place? He was sure that he would have remembered putting one up if he did so, but Max knew that it wasn’t him. Oh wait…he left Val in the store yesterday when he decided to go out for break. It was his sister who did it then, wasn’t it? Either way, the nerd couldn’t help but rub the back of his neck as he looked away from Jackie. “You know, we don’t actually have to kiss or anything. Not like there is any rules saying that we have to kiss.” He rambled a bit, knowing how awkward it would be if they were to do so. “Actually, it is tradition” Jackie mentioned, although she nodded in agreement as she wasn’t going to force him to kiss her over a silly mistletoe. Max couldn’t help but gaze back up at the mistletoe once again. “-I suppose one little kiss won’t hurt” It was tradition after all, and it’s not like he was cheating on Vik if he gave Jackie a quick peck on the lips. “A quick peck, and then we can go” he suddenly stated, hesitantly but surely leaning over and planting a small kiss against Jackie’s lips.
Myra:
Max froze. Max completely and utterly froze within his spot, as he didn’t even need to look up and see what it was that Myra was referring to. A mistletoe. She was referring to a mistletoe when she stated those words and the gamer now didn’t know what to do. On one hand, he knew that it was tradition to kiss whoever you were standing under the mistletoe with no matter who it was. But on the other hand, since Vik was his girlfriend and Myra was just his friend, it would feel a bit weird for him to kiss the blonde even though he knew that the kiss wouldn’t mean nothing. Besides, he would always tell Vik about it and since he cared so much about his girlfriend, it wasn’t like he was going to feel guilty about it. But still…noticing how the male didn’t even bother to say anything, Myra rolled her eyes at him. “Oh come on, it’s just a kiss.” she stated, as if them kissing was no big deal. It wasn’t, but for Max it might be. He smiled a crooked smile. “A k-kiss, r-right. A s-small and s-silly k-kiss.” He tried to nod, debating on whether he should just get this over with and kiss the blonde or make up an excuse. But before Max could do anything, it seems like Myra had gotten a bit impatient with him as the blonde rolled her eyes, grabbed his face and pulled him in for a kiss. To say the least, Max was literally now frozen in place.
{Myra} "would you look at that"
The party had goddamn sucked. Really, she expected better, but at least she was with Myra and honestly, the blonde could make anything fun. They’d danced for most of the night, in between shots, and ignored how many men in suits were in attendance (most of which hadn’t even bothered to hide their stares, although they’d never bothered to get off their asses either). Breathless, Mallory pulled her friend back to the bar. After ordering them another round, she looked up to see mistletoe hanging above their heads. She grabbed Myra aound the waist and pulled her to her, capturing her in a passionate kiss. As she pulled away, she smiled, “I am definitely going to have to do that again.”
“Really? I thought they were fake, but then again, I didn’t really give them a close look. I was a bit preoccupied. They misplaced the box and never used it, so they gave it to you? Damn. My family never threw a housewarming party when I moved into my place.”
“It’s one of the things I like, having fresh flowers around. I think they sort of brighten up the place a little. Oh, it was used, just, not enough that we broke it while we were growing up. I wouldn’t call it a housewarming party either, it was just one gift, really...”
“Yeah, the one that’s holding the daisy arrangement. Is it really? How so?” Lyss nodded. “I suppose you’re right on that account.”
“That’s the one! It’s got peonies now - the daisies have long died,” she said with a shrug. “Well, apparently my great grandmother bought it as a wedding gift to my grandmother, who kept it in the box for a number of years - basically because they misplaced the box and only found it years later. When I came to live alone, she handed it over to me as a house warming kind of gift. Yup. Have you ever heard about the amount of bugs we end up eating while we sleep?”
“I’m Damon by the way, Damon King. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Miss…?”
“It’s Miss Moore, but you can just call me Myra, really. Unless you might have other ideas, I’m also open to suggestions...”
“Oh……. Lachlan. Right. I’ve seen your apartment then. The vase on the coffee table is just lovely by the way. True, but it’d still be creepy to wake up with them hovering above you and cleaning your face.”
“Oh, thanks! You mean the red murano? It’s like a family heirloom, you could say. It’s surprising it’s been in my family for as long as it has... Like I said, as long as you don’t wake up, it should be alright, I’d say.”
“Well, if your roommate doesn’t show up then maybe we could spend this magnificent holiday together. If you’re up for it, of course.”
“I wouldn’t mind it. Honestly, I’m not used to spending whatever important dates on my own, so, company would be something lovely!”
“Who is your roommate again? That must be interesting. Ever steal some of theirs? Yes, let’s have them scrub your face while you’re asleep. Definitely not creepy at all.”
“Oh, Lachlan. I think you might have met him around. Well, it’s not the worst thing that can go through your face while you sleep; unfortunately...”
“I can’t say that I necessarily have a beauty obsession, but I’m not known to turn down a good hairstyle or a fierce makeup look. Possibly, but I doubt they’d let you leave looking that way. They are professionals after all.”
“My house is like the land of beauty products. Sure I own quite a few of those, but one could be surprised about how many my roommate might actually add to it. I think as long as they don’t have to wake me up in order to actually do it, then, I should be fine with whatever they might end up doing to get it all off of me.”
“I’m finally taking a break from working on my night club and it feels great to relax for a while. Knowing that tomorrow is Christmas makes it awesome, but what would make it better if I had someone to spend it with.”
“I know the feeling. It’s seems particularly lonely to be spending holidays like this on your own. I’m pretty much waiting to see whether my roommate will show up and want to do anything for the festivities, if not, then, I’m afraid I’m on that same boat.”
“Only some places and I doubt it would be comfortable to sleep on them for the night. You could, but that’s a lot of effort when I could just sleep in my own bed. Sephora is a woman’s dream come true honestly. I’d just love to spend a night there because everything is so pretty.”
“Well, maybe you’re right about that. I have to agree it is. I think every woman has got some sort of beauty obsession. It can be makeup, it can be hair, but, it’s there, and Sephora has it all. I think at the end of a night there I would leave looking like a clown - I would have probably passed out at some point during the night with endless layers of makeup on.”

“It always does until you realize just how many people have sat on those couches or laid on those mattresses. I dunno about the mall though. I feel like that could get creepy fast, seeing how big it is. Maybe a beauty supply store or something like that would be fun.”
“Hey, they have merchandise in bags and packs for a reason. All it would take was to find the perfect one, throw the other ones somewhere and enjoy your peaceful night of sleep. But, let’s add that to the bucket list as well. Sephora does seem like a woman’s dream coming true. So many things to try, so little time... I’d probably go crazy!”
“Oh, I’d go crazy trying everything on, but come the morning, you’d have to leave everything there. At a liquor store you could just drink all you wanted.”
“Maybe, but, I think I would still like that idea better. When I was a child I used to dream about the possibility of sleeping in the mall - given that all stores would be open, of course. I would probably eat stuff and watch television until I felt sick, then I would find shelter in one of those stores with bit room showrooms, because everything seems so comfortable around those!”
