ofvelcryonâ:
Violet eyes shifted towards the blonde and eyes narrowed slightly as she tried to decide if she was one of the lions she held so much hatred for in her heart. Her words had lacked malice ( and were dangerously soft when softness could not endure in times so harsh ) for her to be one of the driving forces but the Velaryon had no intention of letting that encourage her to be any warmer towards her. All Lannisters were guilty in her eyes. âHope is valuable at times like these.â Words were clipped, whipping through the air with the same force as a gale that stirred up the waves of the ocean. âPersonally I have always preferred to be realistic.â Her children might still possess their innocence and hope, something she hoped that they would never lose, but she was there to be cynical and harsh so they would never have to be.
Lips pursed together slightly at the mention of the gods, her own faith having waned somewhat in the knowledge that they had allowed the greatest force the world had ever seen to crumble. Perhaps they had been envious. Perhaps Valyria had built towers too high and soared to heights that threatened the might of the Seven. âI fear that the Seven may have abandoned us or perhaps this plague of Others is some form of punishment.â No words of comfort would leave her lips, not for a Lannister. Instead a glance was shot out of the corner of violet eyes and words delivered heavy with meaning, suggesting that perhaps the lions short lived reign was coming to an end. âTheir way of setting us all back on the correct path.âÂ
-Â Â Ever since she was a child, Myrcella had kept the faith in her heart. From the moment she was born, her entire being was sinful, and so she sought to cleanse it by praying to the Seven daily, hoping that they would not forsake her. She always hoped that her voice was louder than others, that her thoughts and wishes would be carried up to the heavens so that she might not suffer the wrath of the Gods. But the woman before her spoke plainly, and it was entirely possible that the Seven had decided to inflict their wrath upon the people of Westeros - a cleansing of the earth.Â
â Then I pray that we shall not suffer for too long, â she responded, tone lacking itâs usual life as she mulled over the words. Myrcella kept reminding herself that she needed to say strong, that she was Princess and her people needed her strength, not her tears. â Hopefully, that is not too much to ask for. â She had read once that hope only bred eternal misery, Myrcella had promptly shut that book and refused to pick it back up - she could not stand to be so cynical, it was not in her nature.Â
in a not at all shocking, but still irritating kind of a way,  myrcellaâs starter isnât showing up in the tags, so yay for that - thank you,  tumblr. i wonât really be around this evening because  iâm feeling pretty drained, but  iâll  be catching up on the rest of my replies tomorrow night ( and the ask memes )
âWed to Ser Loras, oh⊠Sansaâs breath caught in her throat. She remembered Ser Loras in his sparkling sapphire armor, tossing her a rose. Ser Loras in white silk, so pure, innocent, beautiful. The dimples at the corner of his mouth when he smiled. The sweetness of his laugh, the warmth of his hand. She could only imagine what it would be like to pull up his tunic and caress the smooth skin underneath, to stand on her toes and kiss him, to run her fingers through those thick brown curls and drown in his deep brown eyes. A flush crept up her neck.â âThe two children could not have looked more different, him with his olive skin and straight black hair, her pale as milk with a mop of golden curls; light and dark, like Queen Cersei and King Robert. He prayed Myrcella would find more joy in her Dornish boy than her mother had found with her storm lord.â

-  Under the burning fire-light of the hanging lanterns, Myrcella was distinguishable from the shadows which appeared down the long halls. She tugged the finely knitted shawl around her shoulders, itâs kitten soft fabric blocking the chill from her young bones. Her head was slightly tilted as she listened purposely to the boisterous voices which echoed around the corner. They were laughing about her, about her mother, about the rumours of her parentage. They joked of lions and the perversions which the Lannisters were prone to. If it were someone else within her family who heard such nonsense, they would have surely acted. But Myrcella made no attempt to move, she merely listened.Â
â They speak as though they are the first to whisper these rumours, â she muttered dryly when she heard the sound of footsteps behind her. It was a little too dark for her to determine the figure right away. â Surely, there are more pressing matters which they can concern themselves with. â Sometimes she wished she could admit who her true father was, but it would certainly mean the end of her family and she could not wish that on herself or Tommen. After a moment she remembered her manners and smiled politely,  â Youâll forgive the gracelessness of my eavesdropping. But I heard my name and such things could not be ignored. â A Lannister never apologises, she could hear her grandfather's voice in her head.Â

â i would gladly fall to protect you. an honorable way to go, though many would disagree with me. they are wrong if they believe i would allow anyone to even glance at you with malicious intent on their minds.  â myrcella and tommen were innocent of all the crimes commited by the lannisters yet damned all the same for their golden locks alone â it was the way of war, to eliminate all threat and yet it was not morally right  to plot the deaths of innocents and call it loyalty. she would make certain everyone knew where she stood on that matter.  â what ?  â spine straightens, breath leaving her in a series of coughs.  â i do not think your lady mother will be pleased with either of us âŠÂ â a tentative pause, lips curling into a small smile, pleased with her conclusion.  â i suppose there is no one better to instruct you.  â
-   Myrcella had not been in Kingâs Landing during the battle of Blackwater Bay, but she had heard of the horror and desperation which the people residing in the capital had felt. She knew that had she been there, she would have been a young girl stuck to her mother's side, a mask of bravery attached to her face despite the fear which she felt - all to keep up appearances for you Tommen, her sensitive and soft-bellied brother. Whenever she thought of Shireen, the word âcousinâ still came to mind, they were not blood - no matter what rumours her mother denied - but they were still family.  â Honour gets brave men killed, Shireen. I do not need your honour, I need your skill, â she whispered softly, a forlorn expression on her face. She loved her father, but it was stupidity and love for her Uncle Tyrion which saw him battle in the courtyard the noble Eddard Stark. She had truly loathed her brother the day he chopped off the wolfâs head.Â
â Well, Ser Arthur Dayne was not available, so I thought it best to ask you, â she responded with a smile, deciding not to mention her father, or as she would call him publically, Uncle Jaime. He would tell her mother and refuse to teach her, and all would be lost. Shireen was the only person worth asking, the only one who would dare - Myrcella loved her cousin for that. â My lady mother need not know. âÂ
ofvelcryonâ:
Where others seemed to be choosing to fall apart at the seams, that had never been a luxury afforded to a daughter of House Velaryon, nor was it within her to ever succumb to such doubts or fears. Even if she had not had two young lives to also be responsible for she had never been one to indulge in despair when it felt so loathsome to her. It was not in her blood to admit defeat, the home of her ancestors had crumbled and yet the Valyrian lines still held true despite the weakness that had plagued them in more recent memories. There was a vow made to herself not to allow herself to become just another footnote in her familyâs demise and the two little girls playing in front of her were testament to the fact that they all still had a future.
A gentle warning to them is called out in what she has always considered her native tongue when the common one was deemed far less elegant. âGaomagon daor jiĆraton tolÄ« tolmiot, issa riñar.â The ties that she felt to her heritage were strong and for all her children had the raven hair of the Morrigens they also had her violet eyes and that alone was enough for her to want to ensure that they also felt pride in knowing that the blood of Valyria ran in their veins as much as it did in hers. Despite her gaze being on her offspring, she was not entirely unaware of her surroundings at such time when it would be foolish to allow herself to be oblivious to all else. While her eyes never left the most precious things to her, she addressed the presence that she had felt grow closer. âI think it is simply proof that life goes on no matter what, do you not?â Lyrical tones mused aloud, not to dismiss the reality that they were facing but rather see it from a different angle. âThe world does not stop for the trials of men.â
-Â Â Myrcella was often lured in by the sight of children, as though in watching them she might reclaim some of the innocence which she had lost of the years. Naivety in children was natural and endearing, adults would chuckle at their unprejudiced words and their ability to see every colour in the rainbow, not just black and white - a child could make anything seem simple, and their solution would be the most logical thing...at least to their minds. The innocence of children was preserved because the adults around them protected them from the true horrors that would seek to snuff out the light. Life had to go on, even if the darkness was all-encompassing.Â
âIt gives hope that there is still some good left in this world,â Myrcella responded, upon the realisation that she had almost missed the other woman addressing her. She had been so consumed by the children, that she had not given thought to the lady. As much as she longed for her own, the Princess thought that it was a blessing that she had no children to fear for - her own mother had shown more than a touch of madness recently. âI thank the Seven that there are still brave souls left to protect us... to protect them.â
