Following its huge success with Red, White & Royal Blue, the adaptation of Casey McQuistonâs bestseller, which last year came in as one of its top three most-watched romantic comedies of all time, Amazon MGM Studios has greenlighted development on a sequel, with stars Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez set to return.
After making his feature debut with the first film, Matthew LĂłpez has returned to write the script for the sequel â this time, alongside McQuiston. Berlanti Schechter Filmsâ Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter will return to produce the film, joined by the bannerâs Michael McGrath, as well as LĂłpez. McQuiston will executive produce.
Details as to the sequelâs plot are under wraps. News of its development was announced during a Q&A tonight following a screening of the film at the Culver Theater, which came ahead of Amazonâs inaugural upfront presentation, scheduled for May 14.

Alex exchanges a look with Henry as he sits down beside him, and he watches as Amy cracks her knuckles then flexes her hands on the table, her mouth slightly open as if searching for the right words.

âItâs regarding the last transport,â she begins, hands now folded in front of her. âWhy it took me a while to get back and why it was urgent in the first place. Iâll preface by saying everything went smoothly â Iâm sure youâve met Jonah and Erin and the Petersens by now.â
âYes, we have,â Henry tells her. âTheyâre lovely.â
âDoes this involve them?â Alex asks.
