The Book
You see, this one time I had a book
I revered this book with all of my soul
My very favorite
I would not put it down, I could not put it down
Bound with my blood and tears
It frayed, it was worn, I grasped to hold it together
I continued to read only this book
Libraries of words that the world had to give and I remained unphased
I read this book until the print was ingrained in my heart and the pages were in shreds
The chapters were daggers to the heart
Though there was comfort in the pain
Oh how it felt to finally feel
