It’s taken a lot for me to post this, as my dysphoria is so bad at the moment but here goes 🙈🙈 The first photo was taken 1 month on T, the second one 4 months on T and the last one last week, 6 months on T. And it’s only comparing them side by side that I can see the difference. My dysphoria is horrendous at the moment due to the fact I feel I’ve put on weight, my acne situation is really bad and nothing is working on it but there are a lot of positives. You can now see my snail trail properly, my muscle definition is coming in more and more every day, I have to shave every 2-3 days now and my jawline is starting to come in 🙈🙈 I’m still a long way away, having been told yesterday by the GIC that I have to wait a year and a half before potentially having surgery, but one step at a time. As much as it hurts and makes me feel like crap, I know there are certain things I need to do to make it happen. Getting my mental health in order is the first point of call. The first photo was taken on the 24 July 2017, exactly 8 months before starting testosterone. The second photo was taken on the 17th August 2018, nearly 5 months on hormones. For the first time in a long time, I’ve seen me. I’ve seen what the hormones are doing to me, the confidence they are giving me. I’m seeing who I truly am inside being reflected on the outside. I didn’t look particularly female before, but neither did I look male. And now, I look at myself, and despite the dysphoria and anxiety, and I’m starting to become proud of who I am. Who I’ve always been. I’m starting to see me. I’m still a long way away from being completely me on the outside, as I need both top and bottom surgery, but I’m on my way. I am so lucky to have friends and family who support me, a boyfriend who stands by my every decision, parents who are the most loving, supportive parents in the world, and some of the best friends I could ever ask for. I couldn’t do this journey without any of you. I’m finally becoming the man I want to be, a man who can stand tall and never give in.
